Thank you so much for this honest overview stressing that you need to choose the tools you need for your specific purpose and got go blindly with expert recommendations.
Two other channels I can really recommend are the humble, but magnificent Mr. Solderfix for practical tips on how to achieve beautiful high quality (de)soldering and he has some great practical tips on how to avoid common pit falls. If you want to know how deep the the rabbit via goes and want to learn about the physics behind PCB's when you are designing electronic circuits yourself, give Robert Ferranec a chance. Admittedly this is a bit off topic when it comes to repairs, but it will help you to improvise responsibly whenever you don't have the perfect materials at hand for when you are repairing a trace.
My 2 favorite things I learned:
1) sometimes you have to add more solder to remove solder
2) gargabe in - garbage out. do not debug functionality when fundamental inputs are broken. If you got a shorted power rail don't blame an IC for not doing it's thing.
Another channel I highly recommend is PCB Solder. He's a German guy as well and his work style is just sooooooo damn clean. Like when he fixes and replaces stuff it's almost impossible to tell he was there.
Thanks man for a vid. Just a couple of channels to your lib:
1. Total Kommando also from Canada. Fixes and modding Sony PSP
2. Electronics Manufacturing Technologies
3. TechCornerTV Electronics, Projects & Tutorials
thanks for sharing this, very good content. GJ
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьYour comment about "Don't even bother with a uv flash light it's not strong enough" hit home. Tried to use it even after adding like 8 AA batteries it still didn't do much after like 5 minutes. Ended up getting solder mask everywhere. Immediately ordered the uv curing lamp you suggested. And a bunch of tweezers. So much better. My esd black ones Flippin curled around at the end somehow. Stoked on your suggestions. First thing I ever tried was the rgh 3 chip less and I got it! Was so stoked. Like ima keep doing this this is enjoyable. Love fixing things. And saving others money on their broken stuff.
ОтветитьWhat do you think about the Vevor Ultrasonic Cleaners on AliExpress? I see that they go up to 30 L and I don't have an Ultrasonic cleaner yet. Looking very much forward to your video on it!
Ответитьimo YCS on another level!
ОтветитьI am in BC CANADA buddy! 🇨🇦. Nice vid!
ОтветитьYou got a new sub. great insights. thank you.
ОтветитьCan you send me the link where I can support your channel by buying some of the long sleeve shirts or coffee mugs, work pads, with your logo thanks
Wally
Great video! You are killing it, man. Keep it going!
ОтветитьGood stuff, truly! I never seen any other videos of yours, this is the first one so I have no idea about your skillset but watching this video, I can tell for a relatively young tech, you seem to be quite wise. I will be sure to check out your other videos. I am a System Admin by trade and good with computers in general but I have been very interested in learning electronics repair for a long while and finally getting into it. I definitely agree, watching repair videos, especially the ones that offer good tips and tricks of the trade is super helpful but eventually you have to get your hands dirty and practice as much as possible to actually learn it by doing it.
ОтветитьI must say, you have a bright future in front of you! I stepped out of my comfort zone and had the courage to put myself out there to provide services to the small town I moved into! I commend you and look forward to continue learning and honing my skills...I became a new subscriber from this video!!
ОтветитьI use YCS tools my hot air station is YCS R1 pro my soldering station is an YCS S1. And I just want to add something when comes to electronics knowledge is not only about repairing. It's also important to know to build and make your own things using the electronics knowledge. If you go and watch my first videos I uploaded on my channel you will see something made by my self with no copying a schematic or copying someone else. It's all made it from my mind thanks for the knowledge I studied on electronics!
ОтветитьIm watching your videos and enjoying but i didnt know how to transfres this skill set to money. I mean ı cant be a full time repairman. but in this video you gave me an idea that ı can buy broken things, fix to sell. that changed my mind. thx man.
ОтветитьGreat video ! Thank you!
ОтветитьA melhor estação para micro soldadura é a PACE PCR 2000, com todos os seus acessórios.
ОтветитьTotally agree. Good that young people like you are joining Richard, Sorin and all the magicians who share their knowledge for free. And as you mentioned... They have that much experience because of their age and their eageness to learn always more. And nowadays there is the advantage of YT. I'm sure you will succeed. Its funny when Sorin explains how he fixed things in the past. The video where he showed us the predecessor of hot air stations... Priceless and funny. Also, fixing things is good for our environment. I wish you good luck and keep going !
ОтветитьI read this as "10 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started Microdosing" lmao
ОтветитьI loved this vid. I am new to micro soldering but have been soldering for 30 yrs. I have watched most of the channels you mentioned, and I will look into the others. I also watch thecod3r and toltecmerc they are some of my favs along with several you mentioned.I thank you for the advice you offered, and I couldnt agree more on several points. Thank you again!
ОтветитьYour eyes are beautiful !
ОтветитьBang on video. Well said. Im at that starting stage at the moment. Got all the gear and tools, just learning how to use it.
ОтветитьYcs is insane. Absolute genius. I've bought his trinocular microscope and tweezers. There's a guy from Germany who does switches, cant remember his name. Doesn't post too much lately though.
ОтветитьGatekeeping is always done by loosers who are scared that peoples learn a skill , sometimes better than they did , and all of this without going to school...these peoples cannot tolerate to be mediocre or feel like it,, thats all their self worth is build upon.... Shallow child that impaired humanity progress.....sad....
ОтветитьDon’t worry, your on the right path. I’m sure if you need advice one of your idols would be more than willing to give some tips business etc
ОтветитьThe dodgy man , sorin great teacher
ОтветитьThe mistakes hurt. Like when you delaminate traces by transfering too much heat to a very small trace and you end up with nightmare trace repairs when the fix was just replacing a ribbon cable connector. That's absolutely how you learn though. And yes training on a worthless board is good but it's when you have some money on the line that you learn the lessons that sticks :p
Oh by the way, three people who really got me into repairs are: Stestix Fix? My mate vince and Tronics fix. The amateur fixes really got me into fixing stuff like controllers and PS4's. It was like "wait a minute you can fix that by basicly just taking the thing apart?! I can do that :O" It was like an invitation to try :)
SUPER. HELPFUL.Just getting into this over the last year, learned more here than most other vids out there.
ОтветитьMe while watching this while I have a motherboard I could be working on 😅
ОтветитьNEW SUB HERE, I LOVE YOUR WORDS ❤ BUT YOU DIDN'T MENTION ALEX FROM NORTHRIDGEFIX?😂
GUY CHECK OUT PHONE SCHEMATICS EDUCATION ALSO HE IS MASTER AT WHAT HE DOES
I go SMD rezistors And caps And some Chips like BGA or KBC with hot air...to remove And to Solder i use soldering tip for KBC And some 8 legs chip to
ОтветитьAppreciate you and your content! 😊😊
ОтветитьAppreciate the video and couldn't agree more.
Ответитьthanks!
Ответитьwhat would you say would be to practice on for Microsoldering
ОтветитьThanks man, this is GOLD appreciate it.
ОтветитьPlease make video on the profitability of this business. Is it worth it to spend so much on this business or its more inclined towards hobby and entertainment?
ОтветитьAliexpress is a great source for high-quality tools!
I've bought almost everything I need for my work there, I highly recommend it.
Don’t discount yourself in that list sir. I just found your channel, but you obviously have some good lessons to teach.
ОтветитьHow lucky im who felt stuck in learn microsoldering repair found your channel. Thank you
ОтветитьDe ja vu... I think I already watched this video, but like years ago. Which is weird because I went to check Joey's channel to see if the videos match the time of upload and yeah, they're from 1 month ago too. But I'm sure I watched this video MUCH before. 🤨
Ответить@northwestrepair also does some excellent fixes, and the similarly named @NorthridgeFix is good too.
