Irene Hume. What a voice.
ОтветитьIt did not make the UK Top 20! It reached no. 21 in 1974, and then was reissued in 1982 and made no. 28.
ОтветитьNeal Young wrote this back when the Music was at its Greatest--unlike the CRAP we have from the X-Gen (Book-end Gen of the Gen-X)......BUT this version, by PRELUDE was the one we all loved and heard....lost forever until U-Toob came along........Now the WW2 Gen, and the Boomers AND the Gen X can still hear Good Music.
ОтветитьGoosebumps!
Ответить🙏
ОтветитьGreat cover
ОтветитьSTUNNING! WHAT A COVER!
ОтветитьThis song brings me to tears whenever I hear it - this cover by Prelude - with no instruments or music gives if even a higher level of emotional impact. Brilliantly done!
Ответитьstill lovin' this in 2023
Ответитьthis song is on my ET Rock and Roll playlist, along with Love Walks In, Children of the Sun and Kashmir.
ОтветитьWow she fills those jeans like a charm
ОтветитьThis really is a beautful version of a great song. Neil Young some amazing music. A time of fantastic music and superb artists. I am so lucky to have been around through the 60s and 70s and listen to songs that are still being played today...
ОтветитьThe single is much better.
ОтветитьThis song is one that gets into your mind.I heard it 40 odd years ago and it's Been in my psyche ever since.Amazing piece of music and unbelievable singer.Just listen to it while your on your own, just chillin' sat in an armchair, nothing else on jyst this and you will see exactly what she's singing about.
Masterpiece.
Neil loved this!
ОтветитьHands down—the all time best version of this song!
Ответитьacapella, is there any other great song without instruments
ОтветитьHi, I'm from Brazil, did this trio record albums? I can't find other songs by them I looked on you tube as a prelude. I want to know their work I just loved it
ОтветитьGoosebumps xxx
ОтветитьCover versions are normally a disappointing experience but the Prelude version of After the gold rush is absolutely stunning I’m 70 and after all these years the song still brings tears to my eyes .
ОтветитьI haven't heard this for years and years - gave me goose bumps!!
ОтветитьDid they do an instrumental called something like Mr's Johnsons Son?
ОтветитьFantastic piece of music. I've played it for friends and asked them if they realised that there was nothing but voices?
Ответитьtight
ОтветитьSomething about this song makes it seem so profound. I love thus melody; when I play it once it lingers in my mind for days or weeks. And this absolutely stunning recording by Prelude -- beautiful voices and harmonies all around.
ОтветитьHeard this was the best version, incredibly disappointing. This is not a good version of the song IMO
ОтветитьLove this song.
She had a stunning voice.
Nice.
ОтветитьStill goosebumps
ОтветитьI was fortunate to see Prelude live in country and western club Guisboro cleveland North Yorkshire and during an interval I asked the Lady to sing after the Goldrush and she graciously agreed it was wonderful.
ОтветитьThe best protest song ever written thank you Niel
ОтветитьThe best protest song ever written. I love prelude it conveyed a message of truth
ОтветитьSTILL THE BEST VERSION OF ALL👍👍👍😔👍😔😔😔
ОтветитьI first heard this in 1974, then hadn't heard it in almost 40 years. What a great song and message!!
ОтветитьA soulless rendition. They might well have been singing in a language they didn’t understand nor care about either.
Ответить100 times better than Neils version in my opinion anyway
ОтветитьThis is the best version of the song ( including Neil young) I know of⭐️
Lead vocalist has THE most genuine sweet voice.
Truly beautiful.
ОтветитьThis & Northern Lights by Renaissance has haunted me for over 40 years. So other worldly.
ОтветитьFor some reason this song popped up in my head recently. It's beautiful and haunting. I don't know what bothers me most, the captivating qualities of this song even decades later or that there actually is a seed vault, Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway or that the Pacific island of Tuvalu is quickly being overtaken by the rise of the oceans.
ОтветитьYES INCREDIBLE
ОтветитьJust sublime! - to be honest they never did anything else of real note - But this cover was just amazing
ОтветитьLove this song by prelude, played keys for a friend of mine with his guitar to this song, with strings mixed with a bit piano, and had brian from prelude play along with us, sounded beautiful, but you just can't beat the original by prelude, when she starts off it's just sweet perfect.
ОтветитьThis is all about the voice amazing sound who needs noisey instruments so beautisul real talent.
ОтветитьUnlistenable…
ОтветитьMy mum has this on vinyl and as a child I was enchanted by it. Thank you for posting so I can listen to it again whenever I like.
Ответить2021 anyone?
ОтветитьNope, not nearly as good as Neil Young’s original version…
