I know this video is old but this reporter is my favorite. He has such a lovely way about him and seems to genuinely care about the subjects he interviews
ОтветитьI'm from Brazil and I bet that girl who doesn't like her nose (Diana) doesn't even know she's black.
ОтветитьPeople need to understand that our bodies are gonna change regardless, surgery or not. As a believer in Christ I believe we will get that perfect body in the kingdom of God. I wanna encourage all reading this to accept Jesus into your life today and ask him for forgiveness of your sins. This world isn't worth changing your appearance for such a short life. If anyone has done it I respect that, including the women in this video. But I promise God will give you a better body in heaven that will never deteriorate if you believe in his son Jesus. Peace ❤
ОтветитьSo, what i understand is that in Brazil is easier to get a cosmetic procedure than access to medical treatment??? This video was traumatizing, i am doing my 1200 squats first thing in the morning.
ОтветитьI'm sorry, but I feel like most of the people being interviewed here who insist that their beauty standards regarding the face are simply about beauty and has little to do with eliminating parts of their race/combating racial discrimination... they're simply lying to themselves.
Ответитьthe narrator is gorgeous
ОтветитьBrazilians spend tons of money on cosmetic procedures. As a Brazilian, I am glad I don't rely on these activities, but I work out (im a gym rat) and eat healthy instead.
Ответить"People aant a straighter, more European nose and a curvier African body"
Sounds to me like these women want to eat their cake and still have it😂😂
why nobody says the truth? Brazil has obsession w plastic cus this place is completely brainwashed since the colonization to like european traits, ignoring completely the unique traits that everybody has from mixing, everyone just hate their own identity here and everybody wants to look foreign lol, its actually sad
Ответитьa tummy tuck with a free hysterectomy or a free tummy tuck for a hysterectomy?
ОтветитьAs a person who was called Gonzo that nose is perfect!
ОтветитьE vocês acreditam nessas matérias. A maioria das brasileiras não tem $ para fazer esses procedimentos. Tendencioso.
ОтветитьThe doctor explained in the end of the video… meds and surgery are two different things.
Ответить
ОтветитьIn Brazil everybody try to look white that is the sad true, in TV just have white blond girl is hard for all of brazilians girls they all try to look ipanema girl! 😢😢😢😢
ОтветитьNo one wants to look like a freak with deformities and it’s not a thing to encourage. It’s good to uplift the disabled community and disadvantaged individuals who have deformities but it’s not the desired or ideal state of being. Hence why when people have such abnormalities and deformities that limit there quality of life they are encouraged to get those deformities corrected by there medical professionals to improve their quality of life. It’s inspiring to see people that are disadvantaged living as well as they can with whatever disability they have. However it’s not the ideal for them or anyone else and it’s not to be encouraged. Reconstructive surgery or plastic surgery should be made more easily accessible to avoid unnecessary suffering through limited quality of life because people are made to look out of the ordinary because of the abnormalities or deformities they have developed through their environment.
Making them vulnerable to bullying, humiliation and low social status. Or lower social status than they should have if not for the abnormalities or deformities that they developed through their environment that limit their quality of life.
The doctor said indigenous descendants not Indian descendants.
ОтветитьWHATS HIS NAME? HE IS HANDSOME
ОтветитьWho is the host? Do you guys know his name
Ответитьif someone was in a car accident and fucked up their appearance no one would blink if they went for cosmetic surgery to fix their appearance, But for some reason women after childbirth who don't bounce back who get surgery to reclaim their appearance seem to be judged for doing so.
ОтветитьI'm a 35 y.o. Brazilian woman and honestly, I don't believe that what happens in Rio de Janeiro (portrayed in the doc) actually represents the country's reality. This concern about appearance is much stronger there, probalby because our biggest TV channel is in Rio, so there's kinda of a L.A. celebs vibe going on in the city. This data is probably concentrated in a couple capitals, like RJ and SP, since most of the country's population has much bigger concerns than plastic surgeries (like food insecurity), while quite a few have access or money to afford that. In most Brazilian towns, it's not easy to get a simple appointment with a physician through the public health system and it's also quite expensive to see a private doctor of any kind , so I wonder how hard it is to get a plastic surgery in both cases. Besides that, I've only known two women in my entire life who got boob jobs and other two who had their abs done after having bariatric surgeries, and they were surely financially priviledged compared with most Brazilians. However, it's an absolutely scary and undeniable fact that this hyper focus on aesthetics has taken over young people (mainly but not only women,) who have been obssessed with reaching beauty standards spread on SOCIAL MEDIA: fake nails, eyelashes, eyebrows, clothes to lift the butt, steroids, heavy workouts, crazy diets...and of course, plastic surgeries too, since women have become slowly more financially independent and payment in installmentes is common here (making poor people get into never ending debts). This might be due to the lack of financial and sociological education. Finally, I'm sorry, but the title "Making BR beautiful" is a bit offensive to me, cause it makes it sound like Brazilian people are ugly and only by having surgerires we could look "beautiful".
Ответить"Everyone has the right to look normal, to look like their peers." Guess what, most mothers have a tummy after giving birth and some, like me, have it for a lifetime. That is normal. A norm is defined as something that occurs in certain situations often. That is a natural result of pregnancy, that is what's normal. Those doctors trying to make money off of women and forcing a new norm, is not.
Ответитьtry walking in Seoul, none , men or women , are "original".
ОтветитьI’m Brazilian and I have 3 plastic surgeries ❤️ but I will have more
ОтветитьIt’s great to be different. If u find yourself you follow the crowd just stop and turn.., the massive triangle in dr office 😏
ОтветитьJust look at orthodox Christian women. Beautiful covered. It’s mean to be about kind heart not look.
ОтветитьI low key love Raquel
ОтветитьThey looked perfectly fine as they were, in fact, they were very pretty. Why are women all over the world bullied into insecurities and self-hatred, so they think they have to change? 😢
ОтветитьI really like this presenter
ОтветитьI understand where the 1st lady is coming from. It’s not just not pretty, it’s dead floppy skin that is annoying and that you can’t get rid off without surgery. It’s reconstructive surgery. The same as for an obese person who lost weight with a bypass and gets the same surgery. Plus, she had Diastasis Recti (abdominal muscle separated during pregnancy and never came back together) that needed to be fixed. It will be a huge benefit for her back. This surgery is not just about beauty.
ОтветитьThis video is a joke !!! I am from Brazil !!
ОтветитьIt's sad that people have to have surgery to feel beautiful and the beauty standards are external to the person (i.e. clients want beautiful people instead of dealing with people as they are).
ОтветитьThis is sad.
ОтветитьYou have the righ to be normal. Well, aren’t we normal even without surgery? For me it sounds like madness. (And I am a Brazilian woman who has had breast implants and removed them after 8 years)
ОтветитьThis is sick
Ответитьbeta have that nose than one damaged from surgery. crazy
ОтветитьIt’s so amazing how the surgeons always look untouched. 😂😂
Ответитьthe journalist is sooo cute ;-)
ОтветитьBravo! Excellent documetary!
ОтветитьThey better off helping their neighbors in Venezuela than wasting $$ in this while neighbors starving
ОтветитьTotals sad
Ответитьits so easy for them(big company) to manipulate these sheeple's brain.🤔
ОтветитьNotice how all the plastic surgery doctors don't have any work done on their face.
ОтветитьAs a Brazilian woman, I have to say that this shallowness , over sexualization and obsession with being young forever is appalling and delusional. I am so happy I left when I did. Watching them sink to these absurd standards makes me sad. It is all about how you look and how young you are. They are actually allowing these people to get the procedures for vanity through the public health system while people are dying on the waiting rooms while they wait for actual life saving treatments. To think these people can vote. No wonder the country is in absolute shambles.
ОтветитьI love and accept myself Don't have to look like any body
ОтветитьBrazilian women are one of the fakest out there, most of them have had plastic surgery, yet their bodies are hard like wood. I find them unattractive.
ОтветитьGringo não pode vir pro Brasil e já tem que ir direto pra favela do Rio de Janeiro.
ОтветитьSo weird people (mostly girls) start loving artificial things and find them beautiful. I’d say you are beautiful as you are.
Ответить
