Oh gosh! Thank you so much!!! You explained it so very well. I think I finally understand how it works. Thank you!!!!!
ОтветитьTo clarify the wire labeling, 12-2 w/G means 2 current-carrying conductors and a grounding conductor. The purpose of the round, as you stated is to provide a low-resistance path to ground for safety. It is usually attached to the metal parts of an appliance so that if the hot wire should come in contact with the case it will trip the breaker before shocking a person touching the case.
ОтветитьYou're the best, thanks for taking the time to teach us in this easy way to understand...

ОтветитьI've been playing with wires without a clear explanation for weeks. I've been shown and know how to find "hot" but I don't fuckin understand how I decode a rats nest inside a box. This was beyond helpful and I'll absolutely be back to watch it again.
ОтветитьGreat video. I don't think you can make it much easier than this. 👍
ОтветитьThank you sir
ОтветитьI had a hard time with learning basic wiring and electricity in school, and now that I’m 21 and looking into trade school, becoming an electrician has become a real possibility for me. This video was incredibly informative and comprehensive to someone who feels like they know less than nothing, so I really really appreciate it!! Thank you so much

ОтветитьAwesome brother i got a pops n brother who are electricians but I understood what u said lol
Ответитьvery nice, made good sense.
ОтветитьI'm an old school dik head electrician and was here to ball bust ... but buddy hell you understand these methods better than 75%of the subcontractors that are wiring multi million doll hair homes ... nicely done I'm actually going to pass this on to my new green horns because I'm about to choke the life out of them... I've explained shown and even had them wire them,,, then weekend hits Monday morning its like their brains are wiped clean... but nice job fella ... P.O.B pat on the back
ОтветитьThe wire we use depends on the application in which we are installing it ie industrial commercial residential wet damp location underground pvc emt or explosive resistant... and using the neutrals as a switch leg or hot was practiced for many years as it was easier for the methods of the time... codes have changed as well depending on which code areas have adopted all junction boxes require a neutral from that circuit no more dead end 3ways or 4ways or California 3ways ... we only count the ground when doing box fill
ОтветитьThe best explanation ever. Thank you good sir!
Ответитьgreat explanation and simple
ОтветитьCongrats on what is the best beginner electrical video I have seen! I really like the electrical diagram COMBINED with actual switches and wires. This helps visualize the theoretical with the practical real life appliances. Thank you!!
