If anyone did kill anyone, which I doubt, I don't think they know what they were doing. The two that made it back down alive were lucky to do so.

ОтветитьWhat would be the motive for murder?
ОтветитьPlease analyze the case of Kodak black
Ответитьwhy is it so shocking that a cop and a farmer were the fittest and most capable of making it to the top? Intellectual elitism.
ОтветитьWe'll never know, unfortunately. But the bottom line is, unless there's evidence they were murdered, it's really not fair for that to follow them their whole lives and beyond.
ОтветитьAmericans should not be allowed to leave their perfect country.
ОтветитьPlease do one on Elijah McClain!
ОтветитьIt sounds like no one in the group was prepared for the extreme altitude. Three didn't make it past base camp. Each climber progressed as high as they could but the two who survived of the final four were those who did not experience altitude sickness. Did the group give themselves any time to acclimate to the altitude??
You don't go from hiking in your backyard to climbing 22,000'. You do a 10,000' climb, then a 12,000' climb, then a 14,000' climb, etc. You push your limits a little more each time and see what your body can handle. You condition to higher elevations. Nobody should have been on this climb who hadn't climbed at least 18,000' before and I suspect most of them hadn't.
Why did the guide ever leave the group? (Was no one else willing to accompany the sick climber down to base camp?) Why did anyone think it was okay for anyone to hike alone or be left alone? I'm no expert but in the wilderness you have to function as a team to survive. You work together to keep everyone in your group safe and alive. When someone's life is in danger (as it is when they experience altitude sickness) you may have to abandon the mission. That's why they call them "attempts" and every serious climber has some. This climb should have been an attempt and a learning experience to be better prepared for the next time. But out of hubris and selfishness they pushed for the summit at all costs and with no concern for their fellow hikers. This was the most avoidable tragedy in the mountains I've ever heard about.
The guide may have been the only one with any sense. He should have stayed with the group if anyone else had been willing to help the sick hiker down and he refused to abandon him. He probably thought, well, if the rest of them aren't willing to work as a team then good luck to them. I wonder what he's said about the incident.
Trivia: Aconcagua is the second of the 7 Summits, which stands for the highest mountains on the 7 continents.
It must be added that there are at least two lists in existence due to the way the continents are divided by the Anglo Saxon versus the Central European traditions.
I believe the most popular list is the one put together by Reinhold Messner.
Aconcagua is the highest peak of South America 6962 m as opposed to Denali 6190 m in North America. Two beautiful Giants, and probably both Deities to the people who lived around them for centuries.
Challenge a god and see if you are so good that she/he will respect you!
But I certainly think that the people who left for base camp without turning back and making sure what happend to their collegues, are guilty at least of "Failiure to provide assistance!"
As someone who climbs mountains, people can't put themselves in the shoes of people on the mountain. Rescues are a lot more dangerous and challenging than one might think and at the end up the day, if you choose to go up the mountain you are definitely in my view accepting the fact you might not come down. You are assuming all the risks and experienced climbers are taught to respect the mountain.
Native Americans worshiped mountains as gods. Nature has its own rules and we can appreciate it's beauty and splendor, but if it doesn't go your way you can't just presume some other human is going to risk their own life in order to save yours.
Seems like accidents to me
ОтветитьThe Mazamas are a bunch of incompetent fools. Do your research folks!
ОтветитьNot sure WHY anyone would jump to the conclusion of murder, as only two of the four returned. Maybe AFTER finding the condition of the bodies one might think that, but murder is a serious and rare occurrence. Was there extreme ill will among the climbers beforehand? That is what should be investigated.
ОтветитьProbably Johnaon murdered Cooper, then the others, in self-defence, put down Janet Johnson, she was nuts and was a lesbian. Probably she was the murdereer. For politically-correct reasons they didnt talk about it.
ОтветитьThis is very American behaviour
ОтветитьNice synopsis!
I'm one of the partners at the company that developed this this film - Film Rescue International. I do want to mention that the process to get these images from the film wasn't not at all like a normal film process. The film did in fact require a lot of special attention to get as good as images as we were able to salvaged from it. It did help that this film had the advantage of long term cold storage but on the other hand, the disadvantage of a lot of extraterrestrial radiation as would be found at these high altitudes and the fact it did experience some small amount of wet and dry cycling.
What's with all the Dildos?
ОтветитьId say inexperienced hikers died due to elements but theres some evidence shows it might be worth noting some other element
ОтветитьRidiculous expedition
Most in the climbing party were not experienced & the guide had only been on the Polish route once
Despite it being a non technical mountain it's still exposed & challenging given the altitude & temperature
Still tragic & the precursor of Janet being sent to a hospital because of sexual orientation is terrible & she likely suffered significantly because of it
Janet was a sinner she had to go
ОтветитьMurder…?…they literally just died from ignorance & inexperience …
ОтветитьFarmers are very resourceful people, and many can turn their hand to many different things.
ОтветитьPractice climbing and exercising as a team! Sad loss of lives… 😰
ОтветитьDawn Wells, who played Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan's Island, went to school at Stephens College (back in the day) which was about a block away where I lived at when I went to Mizzou for grad school.
Those found cameras with undeveloped film are mysterious!
It's easier to build a mystery in one's head when the potential suspects are in a location that is completely out of sight.
I love the deadpan humour. The mathematician joke was pretty good.
ОтветитьIt is typical of mountaineering expeditions that the members are not very familiar with each other and that they are all trying to get to the summit in competition with each other. Read any book of a mountaineering expedition and it is filled with accounts of disagreements and rivalry. Expeditons are made up of people who are very success oriented.
ОтветитьBrilliant and interesting stuff-love Dr Grande's witty dry (slightly 'dark') humour..🙂
ОтветитьDon’t spy on me Argentine…Dr Grande…you gave me a chuckle
ОтветитьI like how you present your stories very respectful and a little humour so it's not so traumatic for the listener. Thank you
ОтветитьDiversity of experience with little experience in climbing. Sounds like a disaster in the making.
ОтветитьDr. G, awesome title...70 in Hawaii 🌴🌺
ОтветитьParece suspeito. .Apenas penso.🤔
ОтветитьIf you think you understand trekking and mountains then that is a sure sign that you don't.
ОтветитьWas there books written about this case I couldnt find anything online?
ОтветитьNo mystery here, the guide left the group.. a sign that he and the climbers werent in agreement and one or more of them were usurping his authority.. and/or were not cooperating with each other and creating an unsafe group attempt. You left out a key element in your evaluation.. that of the lack of oxygen at altitude, which affects a climber's reasoning and judgement...hypoxia can explain why the female was way off the route that the others were using, and it can explain why the others were not helping her.. iIt can partly explain their stories not matching too. It's extremely difficult to help others when you are not strong yourself, and, in some cases of hypoxia, the victim becomes agressive and uncooperative. Your "analysis" falls short because it doesn't take into account the shifts in behavior in someone suffering from hypoxia, and your lack of understanding high altitude physiology. I was a professional mountain guide for nearly 27 years and have climbed and guided Aconcagua as well as many mountains in South America besides regular work in north America, Europe, and Africa.
ОтветитьPlay stupid games, win stupid prizes!
ОтветитьPlease pronounce Español names correctly
ОтветитьAs argentinian I could say that most often than rarely we hear about people losing their life in Aconcagua. I guess it seem dangerously easy for hikers, and that is what end costing their lives. It looks "easy", it is not.
ОтветитьSo, a therapist, or counselor is a "mental health professional" but a homosexual is "gay" - I don't care for the inconsistent use of scientific and professional terms, Todd! Be the same across the board, you usually avoid slang and street terms, so, don't call people "gay."
ОтветитьI don't think having someone able to perform psychoanalysis is necessarily any more useful in this situation than being a police officer
ОтветитьGood one....thanks for the chuckles.
ОтветитьDont Spy on Me Argentina! You know! I've got too much to hide from You!
All the faces I beat in!,All the ladies I abandoned, dont look too close! You know I'm trying to distance myself so I dont expire in Argentina Prison 🎵
Falling on your sword...down the mountains
ОтветитьSounds to me like
Jack and Jill went up the hill to catch a pale of water 💧
Jack fell down and broke this crown, and Jill came tumbling after
Intriguing story! Sounds like the mountaineering version of Agatha Christie,s " Body in the library."Certainly many factors came into play in this tragic scenario . Despite the combined intelligence of the participants, there seemed to be a sad lack of group mentality,, common sense and honest evaluation of the situation. Nobody was murdered. Poor judgement and the mountain claimed the victims. Nature is always a force to be reckoned with and respected.
ОтветитьA PhD isn’t necessarily to be a librarian.
ОтветитьThe farmer and the cop got the furthest. Who would've guessed the most discounted by the toughest were the two working class men 😂
ОтветитьShe was the only woman.
ОтветитьAltitude sickness,( hypoxia) is no joke. Even someone who is strong and muscular can be stricken. The ability to think and make decisions can slip away quickly. Discussions and judgement of climbers actions often fail to consider that they most likely were unable to think clearly and suffered the consequences. I'm glad I survived my youthful desire to climb
