Mind you she was already around 40 years in her music career when she done this performance in early 2000. Imagine what her voice must been sounded like in her prime. This is what it sounds like when you take care of your VOICE and your god gifted talent. Excessive lifestyle, drugs, smoking and drinking can take a toll on your vocals. How was she still able to sounded like this 40 years into her career. I still would place Whiney above Pattie in terms of vocals, but let’s be very honest Whitney her voice, and so did Mariah Carey. Don’t get me wrong we are humans and so the voice will eventually wear and tear over the years. But Whitney and Mariah lost their voices way too early into their careers. Celine Dion still can hold those notes and Diana Ross in her 70s still sounds very good. This is a comment simply about the ladies with exceptionally great vocals and who took care of their voices vs who didn’t..amazing performance this is !!!
