Beautifully done! This is a fab look for evening, but too dramatic for every day daytime. Wish you could do a video for the same sort effect but much softer. I suppose I could use more neutral shades to get the same affect. So, same principle but less drama?

You are so pretty and love your hair color. That's my favorite color for my hair too. Dark brown with auburn in it.

Thanks for this video 😊 I actually had to look back at pictures of myself as a child to see how my eyes were …when I was younger , and they have always been deep set, not a lot of lid space (and yes, did that plucking thing in the 90s for more, lid space (not at the part that’s closer to the nose. I left that on the thicker side,) but the rest is thin and I am now 58, and I’m seeing the more hooded look, and now my eyes seem to be downturned at the outer corners… as a matter fact, you can actually see lines I don’t know if they’re like a wrinkle or what but they actually point down

I’ve watched other tutorials that told you to put the darker shade above the crease to make it appear that you have a higher crease, and I find that has helped, and I also tight line the upper lid, because when my eyes are open, you can only see half of the bottom of my lid… And the other half is completely hidden because the extra skin is hanging over it, if that sense?
I’ve tried to do the tiniest wing because that’s really all I can do… So I can use the thinnest brush and make a tiny line going up to bring my eyes up … I use the lightest kind of taupe color underneath my eyes, and I don’t use eyeliner under my eyes.

Also, I believe my eyes are set close… And unfortunately, my eyebrows just naturally curve down, there’s never been an arch… I try to brush my brows up to make them look up, but it’s difficult… I can kind of get an arch on one side but not the other… Ugh!

By the way, if you look at my profile pic here… This is from eight years ago… But I still pretty much look the same lol and you can see how my eyes are…

I've had hooded eyes my whole life. Now that I am older I have severe hooded eyes. So I really do not wear makeup at all. My step daughter is getting married and I am going to really try to find a good look for her wedding.
I will buy some make up and practice.

I just found this tutorial. I know it’s a couple of years old now but I needed to say that it was SO helpful. I would love to see you offer a similar tutorial with less neutral colors - like blue, greens, grays, etc. Does color choice change the application process? I’m curious how you would recommend color choices for over 50-hooded eye in a different pallet. I struggle with this when wanting to coordinate with a particular outfit or when wanting a bit of fun/drama.

This is one of your older videos, but I'm trying to watch as many as I can because you've already solved several issues for me. The first would be making my lips look bigger with liners, lipsticks and gloss. Second, contouring and highlighting is new to me, and I know it's all the rage now, but with those trends comes overdoing it. I appreciate how you showed us how to contour and highlight sparingly with a powder palette. I had already watched a video where you explained eyebrow "lifting," and this video gave a few more details on that. And your eyeshadow detail was spot on in this video. That's where I'm having the most difficulty. I have hope and faith that after I try the techniques you show here, I'll be able to pull off that beautiful made-up eye look. Thanks so much. OMG- you are the first beauty tutor I’ve seen that has mentioned the 90’s beauty trend of thin eyebrows!!!! I had very bushy dark brown eyebrows when I was younger, and I’m blonde. I looked like Helga from “Hey Arnold” and I was teased a lot. So when the trend hit, I plucked and plucked and plucked. So much so that I damaged hair follicles and my eyebrows are now sparse. I am in my 50’s, and I dye my hair to keep it blonde, but my sparse eyebrows are still dark. I hate to try to bleach them, because I don’t want to lose what I have left. But now that I’m older, I see that my dark eyebrows are making me look older. I can’t use lighter pencils or powders because my dark hairs show through. I don’t want to darken my hair because I’ve read that you’re supposed to go lighter as you age. But right now I’m just thrilled that you’re addressing the whole thanks-to-Baywatch-an-entire-generation-of -women-have-sparse-brows-now thing😂

I just love your tutorials on makeup, from eyes, foundation, primers, blushes all the way to and including brushes and setting spray. I never really wore much makeup b4 ad I was born in 56 and a girl of the 70's-80-'s. I am now 66 this icon pic of me is 4 yrs ago, I hvn't changed, still feathered hair from the late 70's, and still love it lol.
I am noticing Marionette lines around the mouth, don't know how to Concealer those lines and?? and well u hv inspired me to start wearing a little makeup. I kick started with spending a huge amount on products, brushes galore, liner, blush, sponge, foundation, Mascara, primers, lipstick etc..etc. Thank-you for walking me through some of this.
I am a little unsure of what brushes to use for what, and shadow coloring which where, dark or light where? and should I do primer b4 foundation? on face, eyes and lips. I hv thinning lips, not much eyebrows but working on makeup for that. I am retired now up here in Southern Ontario, 60 Miles north in Barrie so I hv alot to learn and practice. I am blue eyed and a neutral however I am not to sure on contouring colors?? I hv extra baggage on my chin I would like to contour out and am dieting to lose 15lbs but not sure how and what coloring do I use on my neck to hv it appear smaller? and in respect to foundation, bronzer etc, do I go darker and how to puck color in comparison to Blush, foundation etc..can u help us girls out??
