I acquired 13 of Marc’s Islander watches b/c the quality build vs the price is very hard to beat.
This Northport is one that is missing in my roster and the Turquoise Ripple Dial, to me, is the better looking with great legibility.
I must say that I do buy these watches directly in line with Marc’s reputation, strong knowledge and great customer service.

Love the Islanders. This is a sharp looking piece.

My watch journey has gone from owning close to 20 watches down to 2 pocket watches, an Iron Man, and my 2 Grail watches. Just as importantly, my watch video subscriptions now only consist of Just One More Watch and Mad Watch Collector.

Nice overall package, looks well made, and I really like the turquoise version. My big sticking point is the one year warranty, which is pretty unusually short these days. Even one of the microbrands I believe you referred to (charging more for the same movement) has 2 years. Frankly I'd rather pay a bit more for a longer warranty than end up with a paperweight if there's an issue after 12 months.

Seiko and Miyota movements are generally considered movements that you don’t service. You run them into the ground and replace them. For that reason I’m out lol. If I’m going cheap I’m going quartz and probably G Shock for a specific purpose like gym. For autos I’d go luxury. Just an opinion but I treat autos more like jewelry even for a daily. Autos for accuracy makes no sense as I’d go quartz or use a phone.

But hey it’s all opinion and preference.

Wow I Just discover this watch is amazing! But I think it just need polished center links and Would be perfect!

I've used Long Island Watches several times, but not purchased an Islander as yet. However, I'd have no doubts about getting one. I've watched a fair amount of Marc's content and he really knows his stuff. Additionally, I believe he assembles his products in the US, so has a closer connection to quality control etc. I've found Micro Brands a bit hit and miss - but not Islander.

This northport is the only Islander that I’ve seen that is appealing to me.

Beautiful watch. I’m not to much into the textured dial. Hopefully this becomes a mainstay maybe with different variations without the textured dial. Everything else is perfect.

Very nice dive style watch. I'm sure that Mark, as a retailer of watches for years, read and understood the "above" average customer's desires and tried to get as much style, good looks and practical design into a watch that would meet a popular price point.
With those parameters in mind, it seems as though he hit it out of the park with this line of watches. And though I agree with the moans and niggles about the band, I see this watch resting more comfortably on the wrist with a rubber/silicone strap to promote its sporting potential.
Also what can you say about his inclusion of one of the nicest Miyota movements. It's the elegant workhorse that helps the rest of the watch rise above it's already enhanced features.

Bang on. I'll echo what pretty much everyone has said. An honest review by a genuine nice guy...of an honest watch made by another nice guy. And it'll be interesting to see your watches when they launch Jody!

The deal breaker for me on Islander watches is the logo on the dial/face. I like the logo; I just don't want it on my watch. I suggest just putting the "Islander" name on the face.

Love your channel Jody and love this watch. Would be happy to wear if you ever give it away 😜. The shirt looks great too btw.

I've got three different Islanders and what's so great about them collectively is that they each know exactly what kind of watch they are and bring great value doing it.

Great review. I have an ISL-36 and I just love it. I agree with all of the criticisms, but despite that I’ve never been happier to give a brand my money. 6+ months on, I still wear it as much as my more expensive watches. I’m pretty tempted to get a Northport too.

400 dollars coming from the same factories as the Aliexpress ones come from is a hard pill to swallow

Nice looking watch and the texture on the dial is nice but I just don't like the colours that were chosen.
Something about those shades that just make it look cheap.

Bought my Squale 1545 from longislander back in 2015. Still in rotation.

But you got to watch this in conjunction with Watch Lab review of it. Jody "forgot" to whine about the usual stuff, the lume pib etc.

I have several Islanders, and love them! Lot's of value for Money and Marc has always been great! This one isn't my particular cup of tea, but to each their own. Islander discontinued what I thought was the perfect dive watch (the Islander Southold) which is a shame, but they have lots to offer and I love the ones I have!

I tried this exact watch model on at the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago last weekend. It was really great on wrist and looked nice. It's definitely got that summer watch feel.

That is a beautiful watch! Normally I wouldn’t buy a light blue watch, but this watch really “jumps out “at you.
And yes, Mark is definitely a very nice individual. The stars will always shine brighter over his home.

The only thing I don’t like about the watch is “Islander” word… the logo on top looks nice by itself

I like the Miyota 9015 printed at the bottom. Do that on all watches with whatever mvmt they have.

I'm an owner of this watch. Though I agree it's nothing spectacular, it checks lots of boxes for a beginner who wants to experience things like me. Textured dial, high beat, great proportion, BGW9, jubilee bracelet with micro adjust. And the more I look at the watch, the more I realize it is well thought out. Like the minute and second hands touch outer edge of indices, while hour hand touch inner edge to create a line. So all in all, I believe it's a great deal.

I've bought two Islanders, one was a Flieger as a gift for someone else, and also the Rangemaster that he and TGV made, and they're awesome watches! First class guy all the way.

Am I the the only one who thinks this watch looks like a Squale MATICXSE.ME22-CINSS22?

I have a number of Marc's Islander watches - dive, dress and field. For reference, I also have a couple of Grand Seikos, a Roxex, an Omega, a couple of Doxas, three Ball watches, and others. Dollar for dollar, Islander watches quality and Marc's responsiveness make for extremely good bang for the buck. I highly recommend Islander watches, Long Island Watch and Marc. Islanders are a tremendous value!

Great to see a review, i understand your criticisms and he had to know the warranty one was coming if he's ever watched the channel! At the same time i think @islandwatch has two things going for them - awesome quality Seiko homages and some interesting new designs emerging.
