Sondheim’s vocabulary and preciseness with language astonishes me. He had a truly brilliant mind.
ОтветитьWow he pased 2 months after this.
ОтветитьIf they ever make a "Company" movie I would put both versions of Bobby in it.
ОтветитьThere was only one Sondheim. I'm glad I was alive when he was.
ОтветитьColbert was in a concert version of Company.
Ответитьthis is maybe the most heart-wrenching, dread-inducing thing i’ve ever watched, in retrospect. i’m glad his last show is being produced. i hope i’m able to see it.
ОтветитьHe would die in 3 months…
ОтветитьI see Lin Manuel's future. The love and respect he'll get 🥰
ОтветитьRIP and long live Stephen Sondheim (March 22, 1930 – November 26, 2021), aged 91
You will always be remembered as a legend.
West Side Story is fabulous. The acting, singing, dancing, and the story.
ОтветитьTwo months to live and as engaged and vital as ever......what an amazing life and what a legacy......!
ОтветитьYou can tell how much they respect each other. There's true affection flowing both ways in this short interview.
Ответитьi love how everyone stood up for him, how many people would they do that for!
ОтветитьThis is why I love Colbert as a host. He is genuinely respectful and has these intelligent, articulate conversations with his guests. He always apologizes if he interrupts and asks them to continue. And even when you see him so thrilled and geeked out when it comes to anything related to pop culture (especially anything related to Tolkien), he still maintains being polite and respectful.
Stephen Sondheim was a legend. I've heard that legends never truly die. It must refer to legacies, because the legacy of Stephen Sondheim will forever live on. Rest well, Mr. Sondheim.
My sister was in her high school musicale, where her high school did a variety of famous iconic songs from various Broadway musicals. In this show, her classmates sang a couple of songs from Sondheim’s West Side Story. I want to thank Mr. Sondheim for all of his brilliant musicals that remain classics. That the shoes he created, anyone can perform any of his shows, from grade schools to famous musical theatre districts all over the world. RIP Stephen 😪🙏
ОтветитьMay his memory be a blessing
ОтветитьRest In Peace Stephen Sondheim! Hopefully "Square One" will make it to Broadway in 2022 :D
ОтветитьMiss you already, Mr. Sondheim. Imagining you continuing to create in the next dimension gives me solace.
ОтветитьSuch a lovely person..talent like few others...charming warm..aware. even at 90 something death comes too soon
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful interview!
Ответить"for those who know the show" so cute! Like anyone watching this wouldn't know West Side Story!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing your talent to the world Sir Stephen
Ответитьmay his memory be a blessing <3
ОтветитьWhat's going on with his eyes in this video? (just curious, not being mean or anything)
ОтветитьREST IN PEACE.
ОтветитьI hope they still open the new show he was working on ❤️
ОтветитьWords can't express the heartache that many Muscial Theater people have in their hearts. Rest in Paradise Sondheim, you are truly going to be missed. But you will be honored every day.
ОтветитьToo many tears .. what a beautiful interview .. the standing ovation at the beginning .. the zest for life and creation at 91 years young .. but especially Stephen reading his blurb for Stephen, live, to him .. again, too many tears .. thank you Stephen and Stephen .. and Rest In Peace our hero .. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 …
ОтветитьWay to give him 7 mins at the end…. so generous……Colbert is unwatchable unless the guest forces you to stomach him
ОтветитьThe way he talks about the new versions of Company and West Side Story in this interview really gives credence to something I'm sure many of us fans have heard about him often: that he had a real enthusiasm for the work of other creators and was an incredibly generous collaborator. And of course, Stephen Colbert really sums up wonderfully in this clip how Sondheim's work made people feel about the act of creating something. May his memory be a blessing.
ОтветитьWhat a lovely man, what an enormous talent. He has certainly earned a peaceful rest as his legacy lives on.
And I remember Stephen Colbert performing in the concert production of “Company” with Daniel Patrick Harris & Patti Lupone; he was delightful!
There’s a place for you forever in our hearts…….❤️
ОтветитьOne of the greatest artists who ever lived. Grateful for all the inspiration, entertainment, and education he offered us.
ОтветитьSondheim wasn't a legend. He was a god.
ОтветитьCan't believe he is gone. What a giant, there would be no rent without him!
ОтветитьRest in Peace !
ОтветитьStephen Colbert has yet to publicly comment on Sondheim's passing. I waited for something on last night's show, but NOTHING. SILENCE. And, no, I'm not impressed by The Late Show's quickie mention of it on TWITTER. Surely, Stephen Colbert could have addressed the passing of this immortal man without passing it on to his staff on Twitter.
ОтветитьThis is so sad
ОтветитьRIP to a true legend. We were so lucky to have him for so long. What a blessing 🙏🏾
ОтветитьI love how everyone stood up to applaud him
ОтветитьA singular genius that hit places in the psyche that had not been experienced before, and such a life that touched so many, grateful I got to meet him...
ОтветитьI miss him already. Safe travels.
ОтветитьWhat a musical genius; thanks for the beautiful gift you gave to all of us.
ОтветитьI look forward to hearing his new musical Square One. That will be his parting gift to us all.
ОтветитьBut leave to him, Stephan Colbert to bring back to "HIS" show of the same name. Really?
ОтветитьRewatching this now and revelling again in our fortune at having lived during this maestro's lifetime. What a legacy he leaves us. May his memory be a blessing.
ОтветитьMy heart just warmed by knowing that he was able to watch Spielberg's movie and the Company, not to mention his portrayal in the tick tick boom before he left. Such an icon, such a beautiful human!
