Nice movie, but in the history of USA independence they always forget to talk about the help of Spain, greater than any other country. George Washington said there wouldn't have been success without the help of Spain.

Love this scene. It's an honorable fight. Look at the background it's straight up ruthless war but both sides see this duel to the death and don't interfere.

Yes yes I know this movie isn't historically accurate. However I want to remind everyone, as an American, that if the French had not showed up that things would be significantly different.

It's a movie of course, but America was a new nation and part of a European power struggle. Most of our arms and gunpowder were provided by the French throughout our war for independence. This movie, while fun to watch, is horrid with the actual history of the Revolutionary War, and the ending is quite insulting to the French who were essential to our victory.
