Did Maharana Pratap Win or Lose?

The battle happened in 1576 between Maharana Pratap and the Mughal army, which was led by Man Singh I of Amer, under Akbar’s rule.

On the battlefield, Pratap lost—he had to retreat, and the Mughals held their ground.

But Akbar couldn’t fully conquer Mewar, and Pratap kept fighting using guerrilla tactics. Later, he even regained many parts of his kingdom.


Why Do Some People Say Maharana Pratap Won?

1. He Never Surrendered – Even after losing the battle, he kept resisting Mughal rule, which makes him a hero for many.


2. Nationalism & Pride – Some groups highlight Pratap’s courage to inspire patriotism, even though he technically lost the battle.


3. Mughals Didn’t Fully Win – Akbar never managed to completely control Mewar, so some people see that as a "long-term victory" for Pratap.



Why Do Some People Call Akbar a Coward?

That’s not true and is mostly a modern political spin.

Akbar was one of the smartest rulers of his time, expanding the Mughal Empire with both military power and diplomacy.

Some people portray him negatively today because he was a foreign-origin ruler, and there’s a tendency to glorify local kings over outsiders.

But during his time, even Rajput rulers respected him for his governance and fairness.

Maharaja Suheldev pasi deafeated the Turkish commander Syed Salar Masood who invaded India to destroy the culture and to loot the wealth of our country and maharaja suheldev killed him in this battle and protected the Sanatan dharm and our country for 150 years lie between the tenure of Attacks of Mahmud Ghazni and Mohamad Ghori
But it is very sad this brave community and this brave king hadn't a single page in our history books😢😢
