A chimera ant jas the same level of talent as Terror-Sandwich, and unlike the fourth prince, Gyro is one of the best in the world at making things happen with every tool at his disposal.

Worst of all, with an overwhelming sense of self like that, theres no shot Gyro isnt a specialist.

I'll be honest, I had comsidered beiefly that Moreina had actually been killed and replaced by Gyro for a while.

Hopefully, considering togashi switches MC’s, before we go back to Gon we might get a Leorio MC ark, maybe once the succession ark ends and leads into the dark continent

Gyro and Moreena would really get along

I think Togashi is using Morena as a narrative stand in for everything he wanted to do with GYRo before the story evolved past the characters relevance. Which also gives him a perfect opportunity to subvert expectations and reintroduce him as an ally to Gon

I love the theory that Gyro purposefully brought the chimera ants from the Dark Continent as a way to destroy the world.

Dark continent arc will have gyro, he learned what ants were & became one. Naturally ha would want to learn everything about his new body & where is comes from. He can then use the entire dark continent for his plans.

Does Gyro being final villain-esque make anyone else think that everyone on the black whale is pretty much dead and Gyro will try to lead the world afterwards. He was stated to have a great following before he became an ant and with the Kakyoin Empire on track to self destruct, Kurapika v. Tserreidnich v. Spiders v. Hisoka, the whole HA thinking they can do anything about anything that's about to happen on the ship. It will be interesting seeing if anyone makes it out though, I can imagine a panel of someone coming back from the trip and seeing propaganda posters against the HA/for Gyro. Lmk what you guys think.

Togashi has some truely evil villains. Gyro,Pouf,Pariston,Morena,Tserriednich. Chrollo and Hisoka are up there but there is something about them that doesn't feel as sinister as these other guys were set up. I cant put my finger on it

Gyro is either one of the last vilians or he was scrapped for the card game lady cause their backstories are both tragic and they wanna body humanity/ do evil

At this rate we would be lucky if we even see the actual shores of the dark continent, let alone a Gyro final villain arc 😂

Also, I thought he was just a side character whose story was meant to be taken as "food for thought", some sort of cautionary tale about human nature, what makes us human etc. I didn't remember the part where they mention that he will meet Gon at some point! It might make for an interesting plot

I remember when I watched the anime I was so damn sure they would reveal that Gyro became Meruem since they removed his almost encounter with Gon, it would've made perfect sense narratively if you think about it. I still want to see him, but considering they intentionally removed the part hinting about his future in the anime, Togashi saying that Gon's main story was done as well as Morena basically being Gyro v2 makes me think that Togashi ultimately decided that he needed to focus on the other parts of the story and leave Gyro behind.

I think it's really plausible that Gyro is on the Black Whale but won't take part in any of the arc, just because I can see him wanting to go to the Dark Continent (maybe to get another calamity and destroy humanity)

Hard to believe Togashi will go that far with the plot. I actually believe this might be the last arc with few chapter including stuff about Dark Continent, Ging, Pariston, Gon and Killua and that's it. Everything will finish with most of the characters on Black Whale dead, Gon being still home doing his life, maybe Killua visiting him and also doing his life.
If Togashi will actually want to go as planned first, that will be insane because if you ask me personally, the moment where the anime ended looks like just the beggining of HunterxHunter world and plot story. HxH does has potential to go as one of the longest mainstream mangas together with One Piece.

Morenna explained that she is not the real Morenna so i think the "Morenna" who is in the recent chapters is Gyro disguised as her

It took him 9 years to form the NGL but then another 9 to make it a country so it actually took 18 years after leaving for him to become a king, still crazy tho

I love how all of this plays to gyros fortune. Basically all the strong hunters are going to the dark continent and probably going to die. There is no one to stop gyro to do what he wants in the human realm
