I hate when these so-called "experts" talk about the treatment of chronic pain when they themselves are not experiencing the horrific types of pain that we, the patients, go through.

What happened to the "Hippocratic Oath?" This is not just demeaning, it's dangerous to patients!! As if chronic pain patients don't suffer enough, the fear of having the only medication that allows semblance of a normal life is extremely detrimental to patients mental health. I have been cut off cold turkey at least 4 times with no explanation, I asked "are you saying you think I'm abusing the medication" and was told "no." Absolutely no explanation and no tapering, literally went from 60mg daily for 2 and 3 years to zero! No medication to support me through detoxiing, it literally almost killed me. Whenever these narcissistic Dr's fail at treating patients they resort to gaslighting. His license should be revoked at minimum.
I have Tethered cord syndrome, had a failed detethering back surgery. I have fibromyalgia, severe bulging disks and stenosis, neuropathy, crps etc. Luckily im back on opioids for the last 2 years albeit not at a truly therapeutic amount. I have severe M-PTSD, I'm terrified every single month that it will be taken away. My mental health is in severe decline because of narcissistic people like this guy who were handed medical licenses that they use against patients.

For those doctors that won't prescribe much needed pain medication, dismiss pain patients, think all we need to do is breathe deeply, or that we're drug seekers...... there might be a day that you or the person you love the most will be in our shoes and you won' t be able to get the medicine you need and will then understand and maybe develop some compassionate care towards others. Isn't that why you became a doctor? Should've been.

I wish I could find a good pain management because some days it’s hard to even get out of bed. I hate being in so much pain that I can even do basic house work or choirs. I have multiple herniated disc and a radial tear but my dumb ass doctor prescribed me hydrocodone 5 three a day. It doesn’t work at all my wife had to start working from home. The doctors excuse to keep me on 5mg was solely based on my age it’s to the point I’m losing my mind. If any one knows a good pain management in Louisville ky please let me know.

Huh ? This guy is a doctor ? He is a professional torture king maybe. Opioids are great for pain. Problem is many doctors dont know what to do with them. One 10 mg oxy does more then any other med. The deaths are not from prescribed opiods but from street dealers selling to abusers. Not 1 person has died from doctor prescribed painkiller and followed directions. Yes deaths went up. Again not from prescribed painkillers. Now CDC AMA and DEA all lost their minds. Take away the only med that helps 40 million people. What will these people due to get relief? Easy .. get meds from a street dealer and become a criminal ? Commit suicide because that person can not take the pain ? Or go find a real doctor to help you ? This guy speaking is a killer not a doctor. I lost 2 friends in the last month. All due to buying street meds to get relief . Our government has tied doctors hands because of clowns like this guy. How much is he being paid to spread these lies he is saying. Im 60 was on 10 mg oxy for many years. Not 1 time did I miss use them. I took a UT every month. Counted my pills every month. Did just as my doctor told me. Then poof government locks down doctors. No more pain help. I have tried every way to get any relief from pain. 15 years of every wsy a doctor could think. Only 1 drug helped. Yes oxys. Stop telling lies. Tell the truth.

Does he really think putting pain patients on Suboxone is the Cure All...and they are on Suboxone 3 years later...oh but it was for addiction or OUD and Now they are Addicted to Suboxone, makes no gd sense !! Go back to calling fda approved Narcotics and put Heroin in the class of Illegal drugs like it was just 9 years ago before this asshat along with the Fools from the CDC that lumped Heroin as an Opioid to then put out statistics ( this was their Big Plan) saying Opioids are killing 100s of people a day..well No shit since Heroin laced with illegal Fentanyl is killing people everywhere every day but hell its an Opioid
But you can bet these people did not have legally prescribed pain medication , they didn't Overdose from prescription pain medication People are Dying from illegal Illicit Fentanyl laced drugs Period!!

People don’t want to stay home just because and have bills problems
When any healthy person Will be working and making 3 to 4 times of what they can get in SSD how stupid to talk that way
Pain Physical limitations
Thanks to the patients doctos have a lot of money
But real disabled people have nothing but physical limitations a lot of pain and depressing life wishing to be healthy.
That person is going to get what he deserves from God
Jesus knows the truth and is not what you are talking.

These people who are suppose to have ethics don’t have any.
There is people that need opioids that’s the only way to take a brake from severe chronic pain.
They cheat and set up people to make them look like drug addicts
Or don’t give the patient the medicine that they need for the month that way the patient out of desperation take something us and that’s what the doctors want to wash their hands and not give any more medicine without a problem.
It’s pain plus physical limitations and doctors need to face that they are wrong with some people.

Why doesn’t he just show the deaths from people who are taking prescription pain meds under the guidance of a doctor??? And not the people who live on Kensington Street in Philadelphia that are suffering from addiction???. My pain is real and it’s not addiction and it’s not an all in my head. Dr. Teater, I watched your lengthy mythical lecture again today. I thought I saw you smirking the first time I watched and wanted to check again. And, yes, I’m sure you had a difficult time keeping a straight face. I was waiting for you to suggest we get a cauldron and mix up a magic potion. Are you aware that it’s the pain medication that takes the edge off and allows us to live a more normal life? For the most part the patients depressed and in bed all the time are the ones that have had their medication yanked away due to these insane policies. These policies are causing more harm than the medication. Why don’t you people focus on getting Fentanyl off the streets and treating the addicts leaving their needles on the sidewalks? That would benefit the nation much more than adding insult to injury on the shoulders of suffering patients.

Well they finally got me after doing so well in 25 years on drugs . like JanaJJ said, I also had the very same outcome on taking opioids . Like him my meds was cut back in 2020, and then cut off completely in 2022. I am unable to go anywhere, my house has not been cleaned since 2020. Before when I was on 2 50 mcg patches and 180 mg oxycodone. This is not much of a Doctor. When a patient is doing thing when taking meds, and then not being able to do anything without. Then this Doctor needs to retire!

Ive had lower back issues since 2002. I was on different opiates throughthe yrs which brought my pain down to a 3/4 from 7 sometimes worse. Crisis hits and taken off pain meds. I was on the verge of trying back surgery. Had to go to the VA's methadone clinic. That dose helped for 4-6hrs. Gained over 200lbs because lack of mobility and then VA says im too heavy for back surgery or inserting nerve stimulators. Ive been on suboxone for yrs and my suboxone NP somehow prescibed me Butran patches. Doesnt help. Shes even hoping i find a Dr who would prescribe me opiates again. Quality of life only gets worse. Daily i want to give up and take my life but my wife and child keep me from that. I too hope some Drs experience true pain someday and see how fun it is. Also why should i be forced to try a back surgery when opiates worked fine.

Where do they get this authority over my quality of life and millions of other chronic pain sufferers? As a pain patient on opiates since 1994, due to a horrific car accident, my pain has been managed very well, until the 2016 CDC guidelines. My doc reduced me to 90 mme. Now i can barely exercise, let alone get ready in the mornings. Before my dose was cut (was on the same dose thru 2016) i was doing so much better. How dare this doctor say you can only do menial work on opioids. I have an MBA and have been a practice manager going on 25 years. Im truly Disgusted that pain patients are treated like this. Shame on this group of anti opioid zealots, trying to say its all in your head!! This is infuriating!

Junk science, selective understanding, confusion of corelation and causation. Studies with questionable methods. He needs a running fact checker throughout the entire talk. Also another guy who's probably taken an opioid and got high so he thinks that's what happens to everyone. Doc if you're taking an opioid for any length of time, you don't feel the euphoria. What a bunch of crap. Like all Dunning Krueger type of people, and yes even doctors can suffer this delusion. He has medical understanding, but just enough to sound intelligent about pain, and to be part of the torturing of pain sufferers. What is the correct number of people in pain? Maybe the overall health of the public is in the real issue. Obesity and diabetes and other lifestyle diseases. Using opioids for pain for 24 years which has helped me able to work part time. All of your gross overgeneralizations are the entire problem. Taking pain medications is why I can DO ALL OF THE THINGS like participate in activities. Most pain patients take meds to be part of our community. I think the doctor has an extreme case of cognitive bias because he treated people suffering dispair, hopelessness and job loss in addition to a lifetime of physical work. So he wrongly assumes its essentially a psychiatric illness. I usually don't wish painful diseases on anyone. For people like this I make an exception. I hope you suffer one of the so called chronic diseases that cause excrutiating pain, and further is told to think happy thoughts and go for a walk
