“There’s no reason why you shouldn’t have complete confidence to come out this alive and in one piece.”
Vulture is vibing in the background
This movie’s brilliant
This movie, is comedic genius from start to finish! The sad part about it, is that a lot of the lines/scenes would be considered “politically incorrect” nowadays 🤦🏽♂️ Too many pansies, would get offended by the humor. Ugh, I miss the good ‘ol days 🥺
ОтветитьI think Betty White would of played that part too instead of Barbara! 😂
Ответить“Cutty say he can’t hang!”
Ответить😂 AIRPLANE !!! I was 19 years old at the time. This movie hands down was the funniest ever. I was in the US ARMY at the time and I remember as we were walking back to barracks from the on base movie theater people were still laughing 😂 and reciting different scenes from the movie. Easily one of the most hilarious movies ever made. Practically every scene had us laughing 😂.
ОтветитьI remember at the movie theater when it came out later i got it on the very first vhs way before cd how fast time goes
ОтветитьIn airplane 2 they high five the Bible in court it’s hysterical
ОтветитьICE CUBE!
ОтветитьThis is literally the funniest movie of all time. There are others that are/were close, but I can't watch them more than 15 times throughout my life. Airplane, NEVER gets old. We all have quoted this movie over a thousands times and most of the lines work in almost any situation. I literally have walked into a random class room/business meeting and just said "I just want to let you know, we're all counting on you", brightens my day to find humor in any and everything.
ОтветитьThe joke is that jive is fluently spoken by Barbara Billingsley, best known for playing June Cleaver who is one of the whitest bread characters on TV.
ОтветитьI watched this in the theater in a full house and when Barbara Billingsley said "Just Hang Loose, Blood...." I remember the audience bursting out in HUGE laughter
ОтветитьThe scene would be funny just from the writing, but they got June Cleaver to deliver it, and that sends it into the stratosphere.
ОтветитьThis show was ahead of it's time..
ОтветитьJive man: The white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only! There is no stopping in the red zone!
ОтветитьBack when you could still have fun and people still had a sense of humor.
ОтветитьWhat it is Baby Mama? My Mama ain't raise no dummy!" LMFAOOOOOOO😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ответить"Smack'em Yak'em"
ОтветитьOne of the best films of all time.......
ОтветитьI took some Jive in high school, I think I can translate the unsubtitled parts.
"Just relax, good sir. She's going to get you some help posthaste."
"I'm well aware of that, madam. I took English in Primary School and understood her perfectly."
"Well, I beg your pardon, I'm just trying to help."
[Unintelligible arguing]
"Hmmph. You, sir, are an ungrateful cur. [Departing] And you're quite boorish as well."
as someone once said in a video
"someone should remake this scene but use gen z talk"
Only funny cine here was the end... What can you make out of this? Lol classic!
ОтветитьNot for nothing but the girl who played Randy, Lorna Patterson, was smoking hot.
ОтветитьThe funniest thing about it is that you don't expect someone like Mrs Cleaver to speak jive. This came out very funny, like the rest of that movie.
Ответить"What it is, big mama? My mama didn't raise no dummies! I dug her rap!!!"
When I saw "Airplane!" when it first came out in 1980, my friends and I were laughing so hard at the jive scenes in particular that we were worried we were going to be thrown out of the theater, until we realized that all the other people — and the ushers — were laughing just as hard as we were. Those were the days when people still had a sense of humor. Absolutely true: My black friends thought those scenes were brilliant, and phrases like "Hey, hey, Homes, I can dig it!" and "Knock yoself a pro, Slick!" became part of our normal conversations. In fact, one time at a Denny's, one of my black friends actually ordered thus: "Bet, babe, slide me a piece o' the Porter; drinks I'll run the java!" We all fell under the table laughing at the server's confusion (of course, this was at about 2 a.m. and we were all not quite sober).
"Airplane" was a spoof of a movie named, "Zero Hour." When I watched "Zero Hour" I was laughing a lot, not because it was a comedy, but so much that was happening in that movie I remembered it being parodied in "Airplane." If you see it come on TV, check it out. It is a serious high drama movie. It had an alcoholic pilot named Stryker who had to take over the plane. Even the fish meals that made everyone--including the pilots--sick.
ОтветитьPure genius
ОтветитьI miss this America 🇺🇸❤️
ОтветитьSurely you can't be serious.... Yes I am and don't call me Surely.....🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьSHE GRAND SLAMMED OUT OF THE PARK! I'M STILL LAUGHING TO THIS DAY!
ОтветитьIt's not just the jive talk, but the fact that as strangers they are instantly & immediately bickering & falling-out with each other at a time of need that still makes me laugh so much every time....!!! Absolute comedy gold...!
ОтветитьYou sir, win the prize buy ending this clip with the funniest gag from this film. I can't look at that over overly flamboyant typing without losing it, completely.
ОтветитьNowadays everyone just hates on Justin Timberlake 🤷♂️
Ответить🤣🤣🤣🤣that made my day..in 2023
ОтветитьApparently its running a little hot.
ОтветитьYou can make a pterodactyl out of it.
ОтветитьThat clip from AMV Hell finally makes sense.
ОтветитьMy mom hated me using ebonics growing up. Said it made me sound uneducated. After a couple black eyes, i explained to her that i was in a predominantly black school and her approach to my upbringing was unsuitable for my environment. She understood after that.
Ответить"I speak n-"
ОтветитьBeaver's mom talking jive is too funny
ОтветитьI just love how out of all the people on the plane, the one other person who can speak Jive is some elderly white woman.
ОтветитьCan we please bring that language back
Ответить😂
ОтветитьSheed 😂
ОтветитьYou couldn't do this COMEDY these days. That's why hollywood blows now.
ОтветитьApparently this revived Barbara Billingsly's career - she claimed it gave her as much publicity as Leave it to Beaver.
ОтветитьIf you listen to each and every word the brothers say, it makes perfect sense. This is gold!!!!
ОтветитьThis movie is aging like the finest of wine.
ОтветитьThis movie is overall hilarious. This scene though doesn’t seem as funny as I remember it though, not sure why. Maybe Jive just sounds a little too stupid to be funny. They went in too hard I think
ОтветитьThe white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only
