Nice one 🙌
ОтветитьLevon is one of his best, the strings are beautiful.
ОтветитьNick, the self-titled album is technically his second album after 'Empty Sky' from 1969 however, there is a marked change in the songs, arrangements and production. Paul Buckmaster (Arranger) and Gus Dudgeon (Producer), along with Robin Cable as engineer, enrich Elton and Bernie's creations. The band and support singers are incredible and to think this was supposed to be a demo album! The trio of early albums, 'Elton John', 'Tumbleweed Connection' and 'Madman across the Water' are to me some of his finest work and I never get tired of playing them....they are timeless!
ОтветитьI had the album you are referring to, it was his greatest hits.
ОтветитьOne horse town from Blue Moves is epic!
ОтветитьAnd the best backing band ever. Great musicians and wonderful backing vocalists!
ОтветитьCongratulations, you are the first person to react to this song 😆 Although Elton played "Tonight" at almost every concert and said "Blue Moves" was his favorite album, it didn't become famous. After that, he only gets more criticism 😆
These are my favorite albums:
Elton John (1970)
Tumbleweed Connection (1970)
Madman Across the Water (1971)
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (1973)
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (1975)
Rock of the Westies (1975)
Blue Moves (1976)
Yeah, these aren't all hidden gems as Levon was a big hit.
ОтветитьFantastic set...although Jose should have recommended TICKING....such a good sad story! Excellent song writing by Bernie!!!
ОтветитьThanks, and good night from Portugal!
I believe in love ... too.
Blue moves... absolutely fantastic.
ОтветитьGoodbye Yellow brick road, Blue moves and Captain Fantastic have many classic epics. Too many people just buy ‘best of’ albums. The real treasure is on his album tracks.
ОтветитьJosé, excellent choices. I hope Nick enjoys these as much as I have over the last 55 years from the first time hearing "Come Down In Time"
ОтветитьOutstanding selection Jose! The 70's albums hardly ever left my turntable during that decade. That was his first greatest hits album you're referring to - one of the best ever made in my opinion.
ОтветитьI love "Boogie Pilgrim"
Ответитьcheck out the 11-17-70 live album. just sayin. :)
ОтветитьTower of Babel and We Fall In Love Sometimes are fire.
ОтветитьElton’s early years were magical. If you think his contract with DJM was for two albums a year and following his fist album in 69 (U.K. only) between 1970 and 75 he actually released 14 albums , one of which was a double, two were live and one was a film soundtrack the quality of their writing and recording is staggering - all fitting in between his tours
ОтветитьJust the greatest. Check out live performances of Levon, he always rocks out!
ОтветитьHis smoky singing.
ОтветитьNick needs a hair cut
ОтветитьBorder song was the very first song I ever heard of Elton John.
ОтветитьI am a huge Elton fan also and this was a nice Sunday treat.
ОтветитьYou could put a blindfold on and pick any song off the double lp -"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and have a winner! (:
ОтветитьEarly Elton is amazing. You must hit his best album, Tumbleweed Connection.
