I have some familiar people who took part in combats. One of them had been at military service as an officer. He was Armenian like me and his parents send him to Russia to avoid war in Artsakh. At first he treated this situation positively, received some combat awards but after the death of many his fellow soldiers in combats his attitude deeply changed. Two months ago he lost his leg and he is gladding God that he will not go back at a front line. Another guy joined the troops during September mobilisation, he was wounded twice but medical commission sent him back. Now he is combating and hoping to go back home as soon as possible. People die for some madman's sick ambitions on both sides and all it does is bring sadness to their families.
There's incredible sadness and nostalgia in most, if not in all of them, and it doesn't matter if you understand Russian or not. We're all brothers and sisters and having a different flag waving above our heads doesn't change that.
