Nice advice....but in Montana to ask a fisherman what depth, rigging, bait is committing a sin .....they will not tell😢😢.

I fish a Crystal clear body of water. You can easily see the bottom at 20ft. You need a light shop. This technique is by far the best. No scent no fish. The other side of this is night fishing usually catches more fish. Thx for reinforcing a great way to catch walleye.

I'm born and raised on the Mountian Fork River in southeast Oklahoma. The best way we catch spring walleye that spawn up the river from Broken Bow lake is to throw 3 to 5 inch grubs like the Zoom Fat Albert or Kalin lunker grubs.Personally I like a 7 foot spinning setup.1/8 to 1/4 jighead grubs in a crayfish pattern early and minnow color later in tha spring.Just making cast in and around gravel bars and back eddies.I also throw small jerkbaits in the original Rapala floating minnow and smithwick rouges

Personal opinion, bottom bouncers always produce fish, pulling cranks produces the BIG fish.

Sometimes on South Dakota lakes, the crawler harness rig with a couple of beads and a slow death crawler hook (single) do the best. The hook causes the crawler to spin, and there is no need for the spinner. Works really well in shallower lakes 10 foot and under. Not always… but when the bite is there, the spinner actually does worse than a couple of beads and the slow death hook. But, when on the Missouri River in deeper water the spinner seems to be a better option.

I'm In Ohio and fish for walleye on lake eire which for me at least is like the holy grail of walleye fishing. A style of bait fishing I almost only see in the Midwest is slow dropping minnows. It is super simple and effective in basically any jigging scenario. Just find a pod of fish suspended and take a minnow either alive or dead and hook it and about 18 inches up put a tiny little split shot. The key is as the name suggests that you want the minnow to really slowly fall to the bottom amidst the fish. Just post up about 10 or 20 yards away from the pod and cast in directly on top of them. 30 or 45 seconds later it should fall through the pod and BAM you have a fish. In my experience 9 times out of 10 this will soundly out fish jigging or power corking.
