Came here after my First Blind Playthrough and was CRUSHED to see that the Uchi Parry that Hard-Carried my entire run was ranked 10th 😭

What hit even worse is that my favorite parry from elden ring is the ONLY ONE WORSE.

Got back in the DaS3 PvP. My build uses offhand curved sword and I have a katana to twohand in the other offhand slot. I use both for parrying a lot. Life is suffering.

Parry is only predictable of you are obvious. Parrying can be very unpredictable if you mix up what you do. To say that high skilled duels dont parry is just not true. I feel like you started ppayong ds3 way after the game started losing the main player base so high skilled duels arent happening very often

Caestus is good because you can switch to two handing to get some poise.

So what was the final verdict? Iron round shield specifically, or is the buckler and target shield in the same category? Help a competitive noob out. (I crush many but need to work on finishes, I get outlasted on invasions often).

Year old video ecks dee but there's a bias we all have in any game to assume that the players playing competitive duels are the best at everything or even just the best in general. I've seen "top level duelists" try to parry when they're in more casual settings like invasions or 1v1s with randoms etc plenty of times. And I'm just being honest, the vast majority of them are really bad at it and basically on par with most gankers or arena players and show they don't know the most basic methods of tricking people into a parry. Not all of them but been a trend I've noticed since ds2

Funny enough katana is literally the best type of parry I can do and do it all the time, I can't even do a shield parry, I played with katanas for too long Xd

Okay but the guy at the start of the vid trying to parry with caestus wasn’t good at parrying at all! So agree with u there. There’s a LOT of ds3 players that use a parry tool and just l2 spam in the hopes of one and you can always tell exactly who they are bcs they’ll run towards you and randomly keep trying to do it lmao. They’re always the easiest types of invaders to kill tbh. No skill whatsoever.
