I just got to demo the 2023 Ninja 1000SX today and was absolutely blown away with how refined and good the bike fit me. Pretty much what these two reviewers were saying seems true to me.

Just test rode both in the last week.. different roads though.

My take on them.. The brakes on the kawsakl feel miles better, the suzuki feels a lot more aggressive putting down the power. The suzuki seemed to have quite a lot more vibration around 5000 rpm. For a tall rider 6ft 5 the suzuki felt a bit better, I think the bars are slightly higher than the kawasaki and just felt more upright on it, however could be resolved with bar risers I suppose. The seat on the Kawasaki more comfortable. The suzuki standard exhaust sounds miles better than the kawasaki. The TFT display on the suzuki is much nicer than the kawasaki.

Thanks for the motorcycle music I was able to stick it out and watch the vid, I usually pass out from the lack of stimulus, and this time I didn't fall to the floor and hurt myself.

These are cool. Has anyone taller than 5'9" actually taken one on a cross country trip? Putting bags on a big does not make it a "tourer". I guess if tour going to commute and hit the track its cool.

I will take an FJR or Concourse 1400.

I could like the Kawi. Suzuki's starting out so give it a chance. Of course he likes the Kawi more, personal preference. Suzuki is reliable, that I know since I owned one. Maybe I'll change my mind after riding the Kawi. You'll have to ride both bikes to know.

Sports machines, yes. But tourers, no. Needs to be shaft driven or belt driven to be a tourer. When touring across country for a couple thousand miles, you don't want to have to clean and lube a chain every 500 miles, or even more often if you drive through heavy dust or mud. Unless you pack a chain cleaning kit, your trip will be limited.

You discounted the R1250RS because the boxer engine was “quirky”?

That literally makes no sense at all. Sounds more like you wrote it off because you didn’t take it seriously.

You’’ve discounted quite possibly the best sports tourer currently made and prices for base models aren’t that much more than the Kwacker. A used low miles range topping R1200Rs is cheaper. They’re quick too. Poor journalism imho.

I’ve actually opened more Suzukis than I can remember and have never opened a Kawasaki but I have to admit imo the Kawasaki looks so much better than this Suzuki. The front of the Suzuki looks just plain alien and why do designers of a bike with twin lights, just have a single light working on dipped beam. It looks crap, looks like one lamp has blown and your loosing the advantage of a better spread of light you get with those bikes that have twin dipped lights. I owned a 1000cc VStrom quite a few years ago with twin headlamps which even though halogen bulbs, the lighting was amazing. 2 lights obviously push out more light than 1, come on bike designers wake up and give us riders the best lighting possible, it really is as simple as being a safety advantage……like a no brainer.

Agreed on the tires on the Suzuki, they’re the same ones that come on my Katana and they’re just really vague and questionable when you’re coming into a corner with decent speed.

Once they’re burned out after this season I’m getting much better ones. The only two things I can say positively about them is that they’re inexpensive and they’re getting me pretty decent mileage.

I would get either of these over a Yamaha tracer 9gt which also have 17 inch wheels. They both have WAY more power and MUCH cheaper.

I appreciate having a true economic alternative to the more premium and much more expensive 4 cylinder engine sport tourers from the more premium European brands❤️

Definitely one of the main reasons I ride is to listen to my motorcycle engine, I absolutely love to hear my engine screaming along.
When I watch reviews it's the same thing, I want to hear the engine noise
I sure don't want to hear that music you have blaring.
Only good thing I can say is it's not bad music but that's not the point, and it's not what I watch a motorcycle videos for.
I want to hear the sound of the motor and the more of it the better. It's really a shame because it's quite a nice video other than that. So one more time turn the music off okay?
I still gave you a thumbs up and enjoyed the video very much.
Very informative.

Beautiful motorcycles and great to ride. The main reason that that the Suzuki like many other motorbikes are those bloody pushbike handlebars. They make them look old and cheap.

I feel like even though you say the Kawasaki won, I would be better served with the Suzuki. I'm trying to find a sporty bike that can be ridden with a passanger for a whole day. Right now I have a 2020 Z900 and the passanger seat is just comicly bad. I wish I could just swap the subframe and plug my old FZ6 seat there.

No one ever mentions this but the SX sorta cheaped out on the rear swingarm construction, unlike the S1000GT (which Kawasaki desperately tried to hide with the giant exhaust, but you can see it on the chain side). To me this is a significant difference in their chassis. Its a compromise one would never accept in a supersport, but perhaps in a tourer its more acceptable.

Suzuki should be able to iron out the flaws on the gsx after a couple of production runs. Kawi has the advantage of previous model iterations, but still, one hell of a good first swing by Suzuki though.
