The greatest fortune of WWII was that German weapons development and production was managed by a group of completely incompetent people. This incompetence hastened their demise quite significantly. What the Germans didn't have before the war, they couldn't put together during the war and it was just chaos.

LOL, so with limited fuel, logistics and poor gearboxes they wanted a 1000bhp engine in a 70Ton tank that could not cross many bridges due to the weight ... so much wasted effort by the goose stepping reach around club.

They were self propelled fortresses.

It would have been interesting to see that thing performing in battle, though... However even with that new engine ...800Hp you said?? ...that's still NOTHING for a beast of that size, weighing at least 72 tons and carrying a 105 / L70 gun...

Projects like that made me really believe in theory that Hitler had a micropenis. This rumors was originated from doctor's notes which was taken during medical examination when he's got in prison after the failed Munich beer hall putsch in 1923

I suspect, as with many things being developed during WW2 for Germany, that had Hitler had the intelligence to keep his damn fingers out of the mix, and let the designers actually, oh you know DESIGN the vehicles... then we very well may have seen the Lowe, and various other interesting tank designs make it into full production.

So interesting it might be. Those super-heavy tanks where just a waste of resources -- what is good, because so we got rid of the fascists in Germany earlier. I even would count the Tiger 2 as big waste -- because the resources needed for this tank would have been allocated elsewhere much better. Particularly fuel, which was getting very scarce when the Tiger 2 was ready.

The one major flaw with German tank design was that they were over - engineered. They needed bigger numbers of tanks, but their tanks too much material and too many man hours to build.

I have literally NEVER heard the extended rear of a tank's turret being called the "rucksack", as far as I'm aware it is universally (in English at least) referred to as the "bustle".
