What If GOKU turned SUPER SAIYAN in the SAIYAN SAGA? FULL STORY | Dragon Ball Z

I like to theorize that Goku likely contracted the Heart Virus from the hospital he was in after the Saiyan saga invasion. Or on Mount Pazu at some point before the android attack.

Only the entirety of DragonBall Z & the beginning of Super is affected. It's kinda more boring in my opinion. But still a top tier video regardless.

Goku turning ssj early means that he would turn ssj2 on namek which means that freiza would have been killed completely back then.

Piccolo is the one that would have gone Super Saiyan if Gohan died.

If Goku didnt do extreme training before Namek and Vegeta base was over 2 times more powerful before his zenkai on Earth and they trained together on the way to Namek and both got their potential unleashed... Then why is Goku "slighthly" stronger? Shouldnt he be considerably weaker? He is 2 zenkais behind from what he should be.

We could argue training with Vegeta compensated for them, but it would also apply to Vegeta to a similar extent. Unless we say that Goku's potential is many times greater than Vegeta's.

Dont forget, Goku wouldn't get the same Zenkai he got from the Saiyan Saga, but he and Vegeta would be insanely stronger on Namek. Since they trained together, they should each be stronger than Namek saga Goku and each capsble of taking down Frieza alone. So thry would probably run out of Senzu beans on the ship

Goku was stronger than frieza in the fight. 120 million for frieza and 125 million for goku (2.5 million x 50 = 125 million)

As much as I like almost any What-If where Vegeta goes Super and kills Freeza, I feel like way too many of these sorts of videos completely gloss over it actually being achieved. Just saying that "Goku told him how it works" doesn't mean anything when Goku has himself only been a Super Saiyan for about a month or so. Goku was able to clearly explain it to Gohan in the Cell Saga because by that point, he had been training as a Super Saiyan for years and intimately understood the form. Even if he somehow has that same understanding faster in the What-If, it would still be very nice to actually have an in-depth explanation of what Vegeta does to trigger his own transformation; what is his Need, which surpasses his Desire, and what is the Extreme Emotion triggering it all?

Also I definitely think Cell would be significantly weaker, likely to the point that a Full Power Super Saiyan would have a very, very high chance of killing him in a 1v1. The reason for this is because Cell's immense birth strength comes purely from King Cold and Freeza. I would personally make the argument that Cell having Goku, Vegeta and Gohan's DNA from before they actually transform... still means he has the potential power of Super Saiyan, because that power is always biologically in a Saiyan whether they can transform or not. Regardless, he doesn't train, then having the DNA of active Super Saiyans doesn't really matter, since Gero would have had only Saiyan-Saga SSJ Goku, not Full Power Goku or Vegeta, and Super Saiyan at the time was nothing to Freeza's first form.

All in all, I think letting Cell still be at his original strength, surpassing Full Power Super Saiyan without either Imperial is a very big push which maybe shouldn't be the case, although you could argue that he can make up the difference due to 17 and 18 likely being much, much more powerful. Keep in mind that Gero was able to make them handily more powerful that Super Saiyan pre-Graded Boosts without even knowing what Super Saiyan was, I think purely from seeing Goku's Kaioken and Vegeta's Great Ape. If he knew of Super Saiyan, I would hazard a guess that this version of 17 and 18 working together would be powerful enough to slaughter canon Semi-Perfect Cell with ease. So ultimately I agree that Cell could be unchanged, although Goku being Super Saiyan 2 was odd, considering his entire thought process in canon is that only Gohan has shown the potential to go beyond Full Power SSJ.

Into Battle of Gods, I would honestly say that Super Saiyan Blue shouldn't work. Personally, I don't think Goku having Super Saiyan for what boils down to a month or so earlier would matter; even if he has a greater understanding of the transformations, which is debatable, he completely lacks that same masterful understanding of Super Saiyan God, which is also required for Super Saiyan Blue to be possible, since it is a perfect combination of both states. I think Goku should still be able to satisfy Beerus with Super Saiyan God alone, he shouldn't need or be capable of Super Saiyan Blue until he has trained with Super Saiyan God for a couple years minimum.

And I'm also one of those people who fully disagrees with the notion that Goku's body "remembering the power of Super SAiyan God" somehow means that he just remained equally powerful. I think it's pretty straightforward that this quote from Beerus was supposed to simply mean that Goku now had godly Ki at will and could rediscover Super Saiyan God, not that he can just turn Super Saiyan and match his previous power, because that nullifies the point of Super Saiyan God entirely if he doesn't need to transform to get its power.

All in all, a fun time spent regardless of some nitpicks.

Why did goku have a higher base str than vegeta when coming to namek when vegetas base is almost 4 times higher during the saiyan fight and they did the same training coming to namek?

It makes no sense that Goku would get so far ahead of Vegeta in four years when he was stuck working instead of training for a lot of it. Vegeta was smart and married a rich lady, so he was probably training all the time.

Gohan post-King kai training would be stronger. Gohan and Piccolo started training at the same time as Piccolo did in canon and and Piccolo finished at the same time as in canon. Gohan's training didn't end when Piccolo's did.
