I literally JUST replayed RE2:2 what the hell is this? 😭

In 2019 I got a PS4 off of a friend who didn’t want his anymore it wasn’t until 2021 when I finally played both RE 2 and 3 remake after being bored cause of everything that was happening in 2020 and 2021. In my mind I said I never played survival horror but as a Nintendo kid I played Zelda and Luigi’s mansion and RE had puzzles like Zelda and “horror” like Luigi mansion so I played both RE 2 and 3 remake and they where amazing. (I know she doesn’t like RE 3 remake but I still had fun with it) no I’m currently wrapping up RE 1 remake and starting to playing villiage (gold edition in 3 person) and 4 remake which are also great I just hope at some point capcom will release the original games that where on PS1 in a collection but so glad I finally got into these games

5 years yet the graphics are so breath-taking I wonder what age or decade they would be called outdated

honestly i really like the lack of ambient tracks, it makes the game so much more tense for me, especially when Mr X's theme starts playing so I know he's near but don't know where he is specifically so all I can do is brace myself 😆

I found this channel when I heard about the GOG release of the original resident evil titles.

It’s so nice to hear someone say all the things I was thinking but couldn’t put into words about this remake.

After replaying RE2 on GOG, I realized why I loved the originals so much.

Bullet spongy zombies still bothers me in RE2R

There are a lot of things that bother me about RE 2 remake, but two of them the most: Totally useless aiming system aka RE 4, because if you want to save ammo and therefore shoot every zombie in the head and still have to fire almost the entire magazine into his head, what's that like the whole point? And the second - terrible camera. The sewers are absolute hell to navigate when you're running from the big sewer monsters and one of them grabs you.

I still think it was a huge missed opportunity to not use the remakes to adopt a sliding timescale. If they keep setting mainline titles the year they come out the characters are going to age out eventually and you can only do the "virus made her stop aging" thing so many times.

I want more remakes, personally RE5 and then RE6 could be 4 seperate smaller games using the same base systems.

RE 2 Remake is amazing but it didn't surpass the original RE 2 like the original RE 1 did with the first remake. It is great but they did have 19 years to improve it and seeing it from that perspective I think it failed. I should've been way longer. And it's not as replayable as the original 2 and that is weak. There are more different ways to play the original 2. It's should've been the opposite seeing as they've had so many years to improve it. Plus, most games today are very long so this game should've been and hour or two longer at least. But compared to the biggest video game in history - RE 3 Remake - it is very, very good. I would put it behind the original 3 so that's still very high.

I played the game when it first released. Just like the original, I play Leon first and Claire second, and then completely drop it. I feel like playing it again but with Claire as my first play through then Leon. Like the canon

I must agree with the entire video! I loved RE2R when it came out, and its the only game I've properly speedran. I can say that this game infected me with something to keep me hook for a year. I do think that RE4R also suffers from lack of character interactions in the story. You don't really see the other survivor between the beginning and the end of the game, and I must say its a missed opportunity. The way I interpret the story is not so, characters with separate stories, more so the character that you pick is the one that is ahead of the race. I do wish we could get something more like the original in a future title! Loved the video!

Never liked the b scenario. It was the exact same game except for the 2 first minutes and last 5. I had hoped for a real b scenario.

I was disappointed that they didn't expand the station instead they expanded the most boring section of the game, the sewers.

Not a fan of the stalking mister x in scenario A. Also why is he stalking? In the og he had a reason for following claire and sherry.

I thought they too many changes to the lab section and the underground base. It's unrecognizable.

RE2 Remakes weakness was the lack of an expanded "B" side. The original knocked that out of the park.

For me, I loved Hunt's theme being played in the DLC where he gets across whole map of the game to get to the front of the RPD gate

I really don’t blame re2r for these weird dialogues cause they always felt funny to me and that’s what I want from a re story! a fun experience. But it was really interesting to see re2r from this perspective, so yeah I really enjoyed this video, as always ❤

I have a problem in the scene with Chief Irons. He didn't even react to Claire's name like Chris isn't a well known STARS operative. He must know who the two are at least and would have been a bit terrified of laying any hands on Claire. Idk maybe he just didn't give a crap because zombies were roaming around or what, but it is just weird to me that this was never addressed.
