I remember that one day when I was between 6 to 8 years old (can't point my finger on when it exactly was) and I was at my grandparents house my grandpa called me out and told me to come and see something and when I went there it was, this movie was being played but since I was still pretty much a child and didn't know much I wasn't aware that this was a movie due to the POV narration natural of the it, it looked like a news report or perhaps even a documentary to me so I calmly sat down and watched without any idea (I think he probably didn't knew what it was either but he sure laughed like he pulled a perfect prank on me lol), anyway, when the first bite happened I jumped out of fear, crying a bit, covering my eyes so I don't see but still watching a bit from the space between my fingers and he was keep telling me its just a movie but I didn't believe him, then my grandma came in and argued with him about why he called me to show me this and he was laughing his butt off😂, then she took my hand and got me out of there

I didn't knew what this movie's name was until a few hours ago when I saw a list of some of the most horror-y movie of past 20 years in a website and when I saw Rec 2007 it fit the bill so I searched it up and saw that it was it

this movie didn't damage me that much tho, I mean sure I was shakey for a short while but I got over it and forgot about it rather quickly tbh, didn't even had a nightmare about it, but Paranormal Activity 1 really did a number on me... I didn't learn my lesson the last time and once again I thought it was a documentary or real recording of some sort and it really effected me for years; fear of darkness and fear of being alone at home to the point that in some areas I couldn't even function but after years I got somewhat over it but I'm still not 100% back and probably never be...
(kids really shouldn't watch and be exposed to any kind of content that is inappropriate for their age, Ratings are really important)

People must be trolling. This movie is recorded with a potato with potato actors. They must have paid a shitload of money for a trollfarm to give outrageous positive reviews.

Rubbish. Ridiculously shaky camera work which makes no sense as a decent cameras that have been around for 20plus years have self levelling to counteract movement. So it's as if they have tried to annoy me on purpose and it worked I got to 40 mins and that was painful enough. Reading static subtitles when the rest of the picture is wobbling is like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time. It started with promise and ended in seasickness. And I thought cloverfield was lame!!!

The female reporter is way to loud and frantic in this movie, they all are actually.
I mean if in a house full of flesh eating demonic zombies, why not keep your emotions and voices down, instead of screaming at each other.
It's getting annoying actually, and for the first time I see a flaw in this movie, cause I think in real life, if this happened, I think people, in order to survive, would be much quieter than these characters are, who are yelling at the top of their lungs at each other.

OMG! I love this classic horror movie. Every scene had me on edge. What I also love about {Rec} - the actors improvised, and not one single actor was provided with a script at all.

Comparing The Blair Witch project to [REC]









The Blair Witch project


Firstly I would like to state that the entirety of this is facts mixed with my opinion. Now, the premise of the Blair Witch project is that three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind. This footage took a dark turn, as they soon got lost as a witch manipulated their settings. Not showing the witch was a brilliant choice that left this footage open to an imagination, similar to what bird box did. This was a masterpiece of a film that slowly showed these people crazy, and did an awesome job at that. This footage is a masterpiece that disturbed many, as they believed the footage was real. I think what really sold this movie is the fact that a lot of the scenes were mostly improv, as the script was only 35 pages for a 1 hour 21 minute movie. This movie is a perfect example of a found footage movie done right, it’s scenes are so captivating in such a little time, it completely immerses you into the film. To this day, this movie still ranks at the scariest of found footage movies, and an original masterpiece. 10/10, no complaints.

REC follows a television reporter, Ángela Vidal, and her cameraman, Pablo, who cover the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations for the fictional documentary television series While You're Asleep. The documentary turned dark fast, as an unknown infection spread through the building as they all got locked in. Most of the characters ended up dead, as what I could tell from the first film’s cliffhanger. Rec had a lot of faults, including the awful dubbing. The dubbing didn’t make the characters any more likable, as the main character screamed like a goat every 2 seconds. The movie wasn’t scary and had lots of predictable pointless jump-scares that didn’t add anything to the whole of the film. In the first film it was never explained really why there was an infection in the first place, and you’re forced to watch the 3 other movies to figure it out. So instead of torturing myself I decided I didn’t care enough, and stopped at the first film. I don’t know if something got lost in the translation, but the ending held no meaning to me and just repeated a line from the beginning of the film. Considering this is still many’s favorite found footage movie is concerning, as so many better exist. I rate this 2/10, as so much is missing and they should have stopped making them after the first disaster.


Conclusion


In all, if you want to watch a found footage movie that’s actually good, you might want to go for a actually finished masterpiece of a film that does a beautiful job of showing realistic circumstances, instead of a film that has mediocre not scary pointless jump scares that do no good for the movie. Oh, and if you like goats and screaming annoying lady’s yelling out “PABLOOOO” the entire movie you should watch Rec.

It's not scary but it is realistic and enjoyable I recommend it

This movie might not be the sacariest, but it's still my top horror movie. I had never encountered such an exciting horror film ever since I watched this.
