There was alot of submarine scares and sightings along Brooklyn and Long Beach..they were gettin close

Imagine that. The Italians had to ask Germany for help during the war. 🤔 huh. Must of been that rare one of two times.

They would then proceed to assault the Apple store, an action celebrated by all Americans tired of overpaying for their phone.

In Woody Allen's informal documentary "Radio Days", he claims that, as a child, he briefly saw a (possibly German) submarine from a beach in New York City. He worries that he might have been hallucinating, but all this sub activity lends credence to his sighting.

Two thoughts.
1) Mark Felton? You have done it yet again. Another interesting and well told story I had never heard of before.
2) Why does everything interesting that was abandoned in France during WW2 end up on French railway flatcars?

The Nazi Amerika long range bomber project was to drop Nuclear bombs on America and it came much closer to fruition than is generally known.The whole project was heavily censored after the war.The true facts I mean.The Nazi secret weapons were much more extencesive and advanced than has been allowed to get out.History is lies.Further research Joseph Farrell.

This action if completed may have changed the course of the war.( like the Doolittle raid on Japan). Happily fate was on the US's side, and also that Axis leaders did not realize how valuable this type of attack would be for their war effort. I find most people interested in history and who probably watch your videos are just like me. I'm use to British standard measurements, so giving measurements using the Metric system, means no measurements at all to me. I think without using both you may be loosing some of your audience. Just saying.

I took my draft physical at Ft. Hamilton in 1969! Didn't know the history... Fortunately I flunked the physical.

The Japanese used a similar technique but with torpedoes to attack Sydney Harbour, Australia. I wonder if the Japanese copied this plan or vice a versa? The Australian War Memorial has the remnants of one of the destroyed Japanese submarines. They sunk quite a few ships.

No Ju-390 ever flew to NYC. That is a complete post-war fabrication without any true material evidence - imagine the fuel requirements!

Glad that his planned attack on New York City was never mounted!

Admiral King deserves most blame for not endorsing Convoy tactics. The many thousands of lives lost because of his vanity deserves to be recognised.

1943, You've lost air and sea control of the Mediterranean. Are losing in N. Africa and are facing the prospect of invasion of Italy, "But lets cook up a plan to use our few resources to make insignificant attacks against a port on another continent!"

The "Black Prince" was known as the "Frog Prince" due to his success as an Italian Frogman helping to sink several enemy ships before and during WW2 via small team stealth raids but the Black Prince had a better ring to it. He would later have a career as a right wing politician in Italy, backed by the former Allies due to the threat of growing Communist sentiment in Italy.

mark give us a video on OPERATION ANTHROPOID but make the whole video about what happened with the resistance members as they fought their last battle against the nazis in the church.

They forgot about the U.S.Coast Guard anti Sub patrols.

How anyone from the axis powers could roll up on New York City, witness it’s massive height and scale, the likes of which couldn’t be seen anywhere else in the world at the time... and not think “What’s the point? We can’t compete with that. We need to give this up, go home, get our shit together and get to work.” is beyond me.

And to think that the Germans, near the end of the war, had to reinvent the midget submarine. If they had access to this Italian type, they would probably had more working carft available, instead of wasting time and resources on suicide subs that never go near their target.

Going all that way and then just targeting little people is just plain cruel.

why did the kriegmarine failed to see the benefits of submarine mortars, that can be repurposed as anti submarine depth charges in the likes of Allies hedgehog ASW mortar.. or the possibility of the IJN with their I-400 carrying navalized Oka that converted into unmanned crude cruise missile along the lines of successful German V-1..
