Amish vs. Mennonites: What's the difference?

This has probably been the most-requested video topic so far. Obviously given all the different groups etc., you could go pretty in-depth on this, but I wanted to try to cover it in a nice tight overview. I had to generalize some, but tried to point out exceptions etc. Let me know what you think! Erik 👍

The Amish are more about Works, whereas the Mennonites witness by living a Godly life, and are happy to share their faith. (I'm not implying the Amish are less faithful.)Sadly, there are many Mennonites down in Brazil who have been clear-cutting land to raise beef. Once the rain forest is gone, it's gone forever.

This one is easy, Mennonite is the religion, whereas Amish is a culture. All Amish are Mennonite but most Mennonites are not Amish. Mennonite beliefs have little if anything to do with the Amish life style. But Amish life style derives many values from its Mennonite faith.

in 1919 many amish from the states came to mexico and south america because the U,S government was bad with them, take off their land and more,
here in mexico they live in chuhuahua, durango, yucatan , and tamaulipas, they are very nice and work hard, and their tradition are very peaceful , out of government control, and the UN, organisation is out too ,

For a brief period I lived in Clare, Michigan. The population was just over 3,000 people mostly Amish or Midianite but there was a community of people outside their community that I was a part of that was definitely a smaller community within that community but along that main road which was about all that town was other than their community The horse and buggy was a regular site and other than that I would occasionally see some of the women getting a ride in the back of a truck and go to the laundromat to do the laundry there which at my level knowledge of the people at the time over a decade ago was an initial shock

Pity they have so many rules, and regiment, yet don't seem to understand the Bible they had originated from. Someone needs to take the real Jesus to them.

Tonnes of mennonite farmers in my neck of the canadian bush. Other than them thinking im going to a warm place on account of being raised catholic they make great neighbours. They drive buggies but use somewhat modern welding equipment but j dont judge. Cheers

There is a VERY small Amish/Mennonite community in Central FL, where I grew up. On rare occasion I'd see Plain people at stores, etc. There also used to be an Amish store/restaurant near me that I loved. I also read Amish themed Christian novels by Beverly Lewis as a teenager. I've always been interested in the culture and I love your videos.

We visited an Amish area in Indiana a few years ago. We stopped at a small store, and found it to be run by Amish. They were happy to discuss their beliefs me. At least for this particular group, they were allowed to use modern technology for work. But their home life had to be primitive. So on the property was a mixture of very modern tech and very old tip. No electric lights though. They only used propane or gas powered lighting.
