I can sing interval do re mi fa sol la ti do but i can't play a melody or transcribe it unless it is also an ascending do -ti or ti-do (descending)

I was forced to get ear training. We used to have services where anyone would come up and sing. That is great ear training, let me tell you! Not the best way, but we had to learn where people were on the fly. Most of these cats play by ear. Yea, they might've learned reading later, but they are all ear training. There are circles that will kick you off if you "suck". So these cats had to learn to keep up or get off. Mad props to them!

Yes, we haven't really focused on developing the ear like we should. Not offending me at all bro!! We need this...
