I appreciated this video and had a little concern, so basically the pattern used here is also applicable in seeking the keys of the other chord?

Why is the fifth a dominant 7? It's the same if you're starting with G maj7 - the fifth becomes a D7. Why? Why is it not just a D maj7? I know it sounds off if you play a D maj7 but I don't understand the theory as to why. If anybody has an answer, that would be great!

Id say that the other place besides i guess jazz you would hear A LOT of 7th chords is definitely indie. Especially indie rock, they fuckin love their 7th chords. Its honestly kind of what gives indie rock the indie rock sound. So theyll probably be really useful to anyone who's drawn to that genre of music

How do you do this with the minor scale?

So why are the 2nd and 3rd minor? I don’t understand why in a chord progression we make some chords minor and others major. What is that called in music?

In 10 yrs playing I still don’t understand..I was taught 135 make up the notes of a chord. What is 145? Also how do you get the minors in the key ? I am so lost

yk what gets me frustrated with these is when he gets to explaining the chords, and he talks of g major, a minor, ect. i search how to do these chords, and my chords look and sound pretty off from his chords dispite matching googles definition of an a chord,

Didn't understand, I got lost on the chords construction I may believe a some chords vary depending of a semi tone counting??? That's the only thing that I can guess cause I thought all chords of the major scale should be major :/

Three times I have tried to learn guitar. First when I was a teenager and forced to have classical lessons when I wanted to be a punk. Funny, it did not work out. Second, I was at college and I learnt the pentatonic and chords, but was too shy to jam so never played a song. Third time was during the pandemic, but I was in an area without internet and struggled, picking up many bad habits. I have learnt more watcinig three of your videos than years alone... I feel like a pilgrim who has finally found a teacher.

I've been playing 16 months and i still can't figure out what keys are or how to find them. It's very frustrating

bro i'm advanced at bar chords and stuff but never knew about this, HUH? now ive write everything down and wrote every key down and how they work minors majors and stuff and it adds up to all the songs ive made befor haha
