I’m going to pretend it matters
ОтветитьHow do you know the shape to use when you hit a minor or major?
ОтветитьThanks
Now I need to put this into practice
😂
ОтветитьI don’t get this at all
ОтветитьWhat do you mean a half step or a whole step?
ОтветитьThis was an awesome video thank you for sharing this with us.
ОтветитьI appreciated this video and had a little concern, so basically the pattern used here is also applicable in seeking the keys of the other chord?
ОтветитьWhy is the fifth a dominant 7? It's the same if you're starting with G maj7 - the fifth becomes a D7. Why? Why is it not just a D maj7? I know it sounds off if you play a D maj7 but I don't understand the theory as to why. If anybody has an answer, that would be great!
ОтветитьAwesome to see hardcore Theory guy playing guitar - too many ignorant folks pro.oti g themselves w zero theory keys / score knowledge - intervals, progressions, reading score, etc... Hallmarks of a real pro !
Ответитьfucking chinese to me... you understand yourself .....worst leason ever...got baddly frustrated about this fucking freaking video...
ОтветитьA very accomplished musician friend of mine, sent me your way Marty . I have been very confused and NUKING ( Navy term) my practice with overthinking and fighting my progress! This has really put things into context, simplified my learning digestion and helped immensely! Thank you!
ОтветитьId say that the other place besides i guess jazz you would hear A LOT of 7th chords is definitely indie. Especially indie rock, they fuckin love their 7th chords. Its honestly kind of what gives indie rock the indie rock sound. So theyll probably be really useful to anyone who's drawn to that genre of music
ОтветитьHow do you do this with the minor scale?
ОтветитьSo why are the 2nd and 3rd minor? I don’t understand why in a chord progression we make some chords minor and others major. What is that called in music?
ОтветитьAnother gem!!!thanks again. Enlightening. Much appreciated
ОтветитьI can't w8 till I kno what this means lol!👌🏼
ОтветитьLegend
ОтветитьIn 10 yrs playing I still don’t understand..I was taught 135 make up the notes of a chord. What is 145? Also how do you get the minors in the key ? I am so lost
ОтветитьYea I’ve got no idea what’s going on here… I’m trying really hard but this feels like I’m hearing a completely different language
ОтветитьAm I the only one who doesn’t understand where you got the shapes for all of the chords?
ОтветитьWhy is the 5th of the key always a 7th. First I have heard this.
Ответитьhow do we know the 2 and 3 are minor chords man this is tough
Ответитьyk what gets me frustrated with these is when he gets to explaining the chords, and he talks of g major, a minor, ect. i search how to do these chords, and my chords look and sound pretty off from his chords dispite matching googles definition of an a chord,
ОтветитьThanks brother Marty
You explain it so well it’s starting to make sense to me 👊🏽
Guitar teachers are the dislikers 😂 thanks for saving me tones..of money Marty 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
ОтветитьDidn't understand, I got lost on the chords construction I may believe a some chords vary depending of a semi tone counting??? That's the only thing that I can guess cause I thought all chords of the major scale should be major :/
ОтветитьGreat foundational insight, thank you for having these video gems for us.
ОтветитьOkay this was perfect only Marty forgot to say it’s not in the key of A like the thumbnail says
ОтветитьI’m confused
ОтветитьClear as mud
ОтветитьThree times I have tried to learn guitar. First when I was a teenager and forced to have classical lessons when I wanted to be a punk. Funny, it did not work out. Second, I was at college and I learnt the pentatonic and chords, but was too shy to jam so never played a song. Third time was during the pandemic, but I was in an area without internet and struggled, picking up many bad habits. I have learnt more watcinig three of your videos than years alone... I feel like a pilgrim who has finally found a teacher.
ОтветитьI've been playing 16 months and i still can't figure out what keys are or how to find them. It's very frustrating
ОтветитьDear Marty could you please show us how to play the solo in still the one by orleans. Thanks .. Mike
ОтветитьI feel so stupid… I don’t understand anything
ОтветитьThank you! Guitar LOVE...here.. You are amazing and appreciated.
ОтветитьI thought I was with you up until you said that the second and third cord in the G scale are minor. Now I see that I don't understand
Ответитьbro i'm advanced at bar chords and stuff but never knew about this, HUH? now ive write everything down and wrote every key down and how they work minors majors and stuff and it adds up to all the songs ive made befor haha
ОтветитьMarty, you a savage B 🤘
ОтветитьI got lost when he played a minor chord.
Ответитьthis must be an intermediate, big time player lesson.=(
ОтветитьHelp !!!
