It's not a cathedral, you ninny.
Ответить>>> FACT,,,,,,FICTION,,,,,,,FOLLY,,,,,,TAKE YOUR CHOICE,,,,,,IT'S ALL THERE,,,B/4 YOU !
Ответитьnope, @iasnaia-poliana I beg to differ. How silly: 'Baroque' in the intro defined as "hugs you" "steps off the pedestal"?!?!? then, just to be even more whimsical, throwing in Luther 'went after the whole of Italy'? Treats his audience like 5-year old imbeciles. In any decent documentary -- just as a random example-- you'd start with: well, the term 'baroque'-- when and where was it first used? is it the same for - say- music and architecture (It isn't)? etc etc.
Sadly, yet again, one of gazillion totally useless documentaries
So much good Baroque music-they use crap pseudo-baroque
ОтветитьI got a sense that the host Waldemar shows a great deal of disrespect towards the Catholic Faith. It's a shame.
ОтветитьBrilliant of course. Engaging and humorous. "The French let us in because they're such fine people." But, sorry Waldemer, if Saint Teresa is experiencing ecstasy, it's an ecstasy we're all familiar with. Nowadays that is. And I doubt Bernini could have created that expression had he not experienced it in primal terms. Many, many times with many different women. It's not smut IMO. But you're right in that I doubt we can experience that sculpture the way its original audience did. Or the way you do. That's the point after all.
ОтветитьMany of us would like to know the trumpet staccato piece and composer in the intro, PLEASE!
Ответить, /.😂
ОтветитьThe Lutherans were NOT iconoclast. The Baroque master of all time Johann Sebastian Bach was Lutheran. What revisionist bull.
ОтветитьSo what became of the cabal of Naples? Paintings with a dark side.
ОтветитьThis made me want to visit Rome again, having already been thrice, but the crush of mass tourism discourages me. 😢
Ответить🔥🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьTip: there are pigeons in Rome... Never trust the BBC.
ОтветитьWhat are those?!
ОтветитьWhat's the piece of music called. I love it. But can't find it?
ОтветитьThis is a valuable and ingenious documentary.
ОтветитьI found Waldemar watching his brilliant series about The Impressionists -- I urge you to check it out if you can...it is priceless.
ОтветитьReally enjoy the journey with Waldermar. He is the only one I watch, totally grips me.
ОтветитьAnother amazing Waldemar episode. Thank you.
ОтветитьWhat did the Lutherans know. The ONLY way to get me into a church is through the art!
ОтветитьDoes anyone knows the music behind?
ОтветитьSt. Peter's is a basilica, but not a cathedral: is does not contain a bishop's chair - ie a cathedra. The cathedral of Rome is at St. John Lateran.
ОтветитьIf it ain’t Baroque, don’t fix it!
ОтветитьIt's cringy how this video is made. The map the wording and the shots! He doesn't start saying anything of value for long long time and just barely educates in general. Just horrible. I heard some UK documentaries were like that but i thought it was a joke stereotype but it seems they are in fact like that. Impossible to watch. Never again.
PS: My english is bad because I'm not from english speaking country.
Biiig hug from bernini's piazza
ОтветитьWaldemar, i love you. Please get a manicure, you deserve it. <3
ОтветитьI don’t watch HBO, Netflix, Showtime, Hulu, or prime I am 100% hooked on his videos
ОтветитьThe Lutherans may have been right about art and idolatry. What they didn't foresee was that puritanical types would end up idolizing their own imaginary virtue, becoming corrupt, manipulable, and cruel in the process. Pretty pictures were harmless by comparison.
ОтветитьWaldemar, you're an outstandingly good teacher. Thankyou.
ОтветитьAre we gonna ignore this brit is homophobic as fuck
ОтветитьCaravaggio is my favorite artist. His artistry is so breathtaking!!!!
ОтветитьNo pretentions, he simply speaks his passion.
Ответитьthis video sucked so bad it made my girlfriend disappointed ! 3/10 . explain more and do less meat riding 🌭🦐🏥🛩🏅🀄🎵📲🪜♍
ОтветитьFascinating. Especially because the towering genius of the Italian Baroque was apparently a Renaissance man. 😊
ОтветитьLove your series love ur passion - Thank you very much Sir 🙏
ОтветитьTHE WORD CHEESEY APLIES TO THE MOST DISMAL FORMOF REFORMATION BLINDNESS.
ОтветитьI used to be a Broke artist 😂
Ответитьthank you for this excellent docu!!
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the name of the whole background musical pieces?
ОтветитьWhy in the world would the French embassy require such an ornate palace? Wouldn't an office suite suffice? I'm sure some billionaire would drop several hundred million for it, I would. What a waste. At the least it should be a museum open to the public. Bernini sure was handsome, even by standards now.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the piece, which is playing in the beging?
ОтветитьIt’s NOT St. Peter’s cathedral!! It’s St. Peter’s BASILICA!!

Was Johan Sebastion Bach baroque? Naw he had plenty money.
ОтветитьExcellent.❤ Bach Cello Suite Prelude is my alarm clock tone.
ОтветитьWhen I seen the baldaccino in St Peter's I cried. The beauty is beyond words.
ОтветитьYou can bet on it guys, Sunday most relaxing entertainment is exploring the Past, the various forms of human civilization, this huge need of fine arts, of open air museums inspirations and ...traveling in the Past, understanding how people used to live once, where did it came from the Baroque trend at all? Trying to investigate like true detectives a ... crime scene, what if we put such documentaries on cinema screens and let them worth like Avatar fantasy seven billion dollars incomes? That's should be a very Baroque approach, think about it guys, l am the biggest supporter of yours, if most people do not appreciate your work...let's ask Avatar characters to backup this important job, let's go creative like most artists did. The Dutch painter Hyeronimus Bosch has hallucinating visions, they say, it was caused by the rotten grain kept in wet barns, in the end, asking for Avatar ghosts to help us out it would be only...an action of realistic truth of those ages back in time. Think about it guys Ok?
