I'll try this! I love that you show it working with a gundog breed as I've got one too (Vizla) and he loves to steal and parade stuff! 😂 🤦
ОтветитьWow! 🎉
ОтветитьThank you so much! I'm wanting to learn how to better support shelter foster dogs who have more tricky behavior challenges (fear aggression) so that both my current permanent dogs and the foster dogs stay safe and set the foster dog up for success on the path to permanent loving and safe/supportive adoption. I found your channel through an episode where you were interviewed on the Simplifying Shelter Behavior podcast. I'm well aware of how much work it can be to create videos like this, and I can't afford paid subscriptions or trainers (I'm disabled and unsble to work, which is why I spend so much time and energy trying to contribute to efforts bigger than myself to give back to society and other living beings). THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing invaluable videos like this on your channel!
ОтветитьWhen I use food for this and then throw the toy he’ll go after it but then drop it and run back to me for the treat.
ОтветитьYour energy is incredible. Thank you for all the work you do with our dogs🐾🙏🐾
ОтветитьI cannot tell you how much this has helped us with resource guarding. It seems so simple you think it can’t possibly work - but it does! I had been using other methods which weren’t getting me anywhere
ОтветитьOne question: don't you think reinforcing this behaviour encourages them to eat up food from the ground in general? I like the game altough I'm nut sure I would be brave enough to play it with a puppy or with a dog who doesn't have strong self-control in the presence of food yet.
Thanks :)
<3 lovely, thanks!
ОтветитьSuch a fun approach! Love it! :D
ОтветитьLove this! <3
ОтветитьI'll try that, ta :-)
ОтветитьWouldn't this encourage them to wait a long time to get lots of treats ?
ОтветитьOh, gosh. I'll have to try this. My girl is TERRIBLE at letting me take items (sticks, usually) so I can throw them again for her. Despite being a retriever, she prefers to take the item and play keep away with it. Rargh. lol (We also DO have a bit of an issue with drop it. Though mainly items she knows she's not supposed to have, as opposed to toys or something you don't mind her having.)
I'll have to give this a shot and see if I can't change the behaviour now. :D Thank you!
This is great - love your videos - thank you!
Ответить"I got better stuff than you do!" lol, great idea.
ОтветитьNice variation to teaching these behaviors. Well done.
ОтветитьLove this! 😊 👏
ОтветитьBrilliant 🙌🏻
ОтветитьBrilliant as always
