A Bug's Life - Dot begs Flik to come back

Flik is a rather large ant (peanut-sized body, tall as a jumbo peanut or penny diameter)

Here’s my version,
Sid the sloth: Poor fellow.
Diego: Hey, maybe we can cheer him up a bit.
Patrick Star: Don’t worry SpongeBob, the Circus Life isn’t so bad.
Sid the sloth: Yes, you can be part of our act.
Diego: here, like this!
(Slaps Sid, causing him to spin)
Sid the sloth: slapstick! Get it? Oh never mind.
Twilight Sparkle: SpongeBob!
SpongeBob: Twilight?
Twilight Sparkle: SpongeBob! Wait! Wait!
SpongeBob: Twilight, you’re flying! What are you doing here?
Twilight Sparkle: You have to come back, Storm King moved into Bikini Bottom, and his gang is eating everything!
Grim Reaper: oh good heavens!
Twilight Sparkle: and I heard two Storm Creatures say that, when we’re finished, Storm King’s gonna squish my Mom!
Patrick Star: Oh! Oh that’s Mrs. Puff, the Queen!
Eileen: We’ve got to do something!
Diego: How?
Eileen: come on you guys, think!
Pearl: I know, the Dinosaur!
Grim Reaper: Yes of course!
Sid the sloth: The Dinosaur! That’s brilliant!
SpongeBob: The Dinosaur, won’t, work.
Diego: what are you talking about? It was your idea.
Twilight Sparkle: but you said that everything…
SpongeBob: forget, everything I ever told you, alright Twilight? Let’s face it, the fish folks are right, I just make things worse, that dinosaur is an absolute failure, just like me.
Grim Reaper: You listen to me my boy, I have made a living out of being a failure, and you sir, are not a failure.
Eileen: Oh but SpongeBob, you’ve done so many good things.
SpongeBob: Oh yeah? Okay show me one thing I’ve done right.
(Everyone starts thinking)
Manny: Us!
Grim Reaper: Manny’s right my boy, you gave us some purpose in our lives.
Sid the sloth: and if it wasn’t for you, Diego would have never gotten in touch with his feminine inside.
Diego: oh yeah?! Well! (Stops) you know what? Sid’s right.
Pearl: assistant Pearl the human gem reporting for duty!
Diego: say the word and we’ll follow you at the battle!
Grim Reaper: We believe in you my boy.
Twilight Sparkle: SpongeBob, Please?
(SpongeBob turns away, and Twilight fetches a rock, and puts it aside SpongeBob)
Pretend it’s a seed, okay?
(SpongeBob looks at the rock, then back at Twilight, and smiles)
SpongeBob: thanks Twilight.
(Twilight smiles at SpongeBob, runs up to him, and hugs him)
Diego: Hey, what’s with the rock?
Sid the sloth: must be a crossover thing.
SpongeBob: Alright! Let’s do it!
Pearl, That’s the SpongeBob we know and love!
Grim Reaper: we’re on!
Eileen: so what do we do first?
(SpongeBob smirks)

Dot to Atta; That's for dishonoring Dad right in front of the whole colony!

Flik to PT Flea; That's for blowing our cover right in front of the whole colony.

Dot to Aphie; Aw there there, Aphie, we've all lost something today. Why, I lost my best friend who lost his place in the colony, and Atta lost sight of what was really important, and Hopper and the Grasshoppers lost all Ants' trust and respect.

Dot to Flik; You shouldn't always have to listen to everything Atta thinks.

Dot to Atta; Maybe you don't want Flik and the Circus Bugs to come back, but I do!

In Disney Pixar's A Bug's Life this scene was really touching how Flik has shown Dot some words of encouragement and she did the same for him understanding the true meaning how any rock can be pretended and look alike just like a seed which is not showing our true colors and the real main purpose in life together you can get stuff done, together you can do and be anything.

I know John Ratzenberger doesn’t work with Pixar anymore, but if he got asked to do PT Flea in a possible sequel, I reckon he’d go for it because PT Flea was his favorite of all the characters he did

I love how the circus bugs tried to comfort Flik after Atta and the others kicked him out of the colony.


I feel bad for him. He’s treated like an outcast all the time by all the ants except for Dot who back then was the only one who ever cared about him.


Back in these days Atta was not only a real bitch but she never remains cool and calm especially when she’s trying to fill out her mother’s shoes.


Which, by the way, is one of the reasons why she was always so scared of Hopper

I like how you can see the sun rise just when Flik gets his confidence back. It’s a great visual metaphor

I always admired Dot. She was the only one who truly believed in Flik.

Flik: "The colony's right, I just make everything worse."
Me: (imitating Mushu) "That's great, except you forgot, (mimicking him) "And since I yelled at Dot about rocks, perhaps you wouldn't mind pointing out so." Hello, they need a hero!

This brings back so much memories! I have always loved this movie!

Only now did I notice how the sun shines in when he finally gets his resolve back.

But Flik the colony can’t always be right

I felt bad for flik

Forgive me, but the ants ultimately did not deserve Flik coming in and saving them, yeah they were nice to flick after he brought backup, but before that, and years prior they treated him like absolute garbage only because he was more energetic and full of energy compared to the other ants. Isn’t it hilarious that the ants are more dislikable than the grasshoppers themselves? The grasshoppers are bullies but the ants are no better. It’s a good thing they victimized a good person, because anyone without a heart as big as flik would’ve left the colony with a smile knowing they won’t have to see the grasshoppers, or the narcissistic ant colony again.

It wasn’t until Flik coming along that they finally..stupidly realized that they obviously outnumbered twelve grasshoppers in their mass numbers. After the whole grasshopper incident, Flik should’ve became an honorary member of the council, or some kind of promotion. Not just simply having his inventions being recognized, but I can’t really say that..because That’s all Flik really wanted.

I thought Pt flea fired them.

I for one also didn't find the slapstick joke to amusing either.

I love the line Manny the Mantis said to Flik: "You listen to me, my boy, I've made a living out of being a failure, and you, sir, are not a failure!" We need that now! I know I do!!

Poor Flik

Honestly, if I was Flik, I would've just let the grasshoppers take over and let everyone in the ant colony suffer by the grasshoppers' wrath since to be fair, most of the ant colony (except for Dot) did all had it coming for mistreating Flik like an outcast and even failed to see that without Flik, the ants still would've been slaves to the grasshoppers and even get executed by the grasshoppers later on.

Yes, Flik did cause the main plot of A Bug's Life in the first place, but however, Flik was the ONLY ant in the colony to stand up to Hopper and the grasshoppers and with Flik gone, the ants all would've perished and died from the grasshoppers.
