This says nothing about structural damage i.e. neck or spine positional alteration or soft tissue injury similar to whiplash which can be determined by the lessening or complete absence of the tinnitus "noise" during various head or neck movements.

I developed tinnitus after a corona infection. My ears were clogged, dysfunction of the eustachian tube and a weird clicking in my ears when I swallowed. I was sick for 3 weeks, but the ear dysfunctions remained. The worst 3 months of my life for sure. This video helped me sleep, but luckily my tinnitus is gone now. For anyone who is panicking right now and searching shit on the internet: don't do it, you'll only stress more about it and your tinnitus will get worse. Stress is your worst enemy. It CAN go away, it takes time (it can still go away after 6-12 months.) Believe me, I know it's hard I've been there too. Go for a walk, listen to music (not too loud), do the things you normally do. You can do this.

What could be the cause of short-term tinnitus? about 10 seconds

Likely nerve damage. Always wear earplugs when vacuuming or using any loud equipment.
Never wear earbuds that insert into ear canal... if you drop phone they can pop out, causing damage.
If you already have it, try getting very high antioxidant foods in diet like purple potatoes to at least try to prevent it from worsening.

I get loud tinnitus if I smoke weed. THC can temporarily cause it. If any other smokers are experiencing bad tinnitus, try having a break for some days and see if it stops. It starts as soon as I smoke and goes away by the next day if I don’t smoke again. My theory is the weed increases blood pressure in the head, causing the high pitch sound for many hours/rest of the day. I was thinking it’s a permanent lifetime issue until it went away when I had a break from smoking. It sucks to get it from smoking but I’m glad it’s not there if I’m not high. My concern now is if I smoke a lot it could become permanent.

Sorry, tinnitus does not arise in the cochlea, in 99% of cases it arises because too little of the cholea reaches the hearing center!

It’s my 2nd day with it. Started after getting my MRI which I think I got it from there. I also have cerivcal DDD.

I have pressure and a ringing in my right ear. When I first got this it was in my head and both ears. Then that went away for months and when it came back it was now only I. My right ear. I had very low D a 12. Then they finally tested my Parthyroid and it was high 135 and my Calcium is a 9.5. Does anyone else have any pressure in their head? Or ears? I’m going for a blood test in 3 weeks and a 24 hour urine test. Thanks in advance,

I worked in noisy Factory For ovr 42 years had slight Tinnitus For few Yesrs when tested for Hearing losss Had a 42 percent hearing loss got Hearing aids Help a lot with my hearing as said had a slight ringing noise now and again about couple times a week for a minute our Two during the Covid Epidemic had all the Covid jags did not make my Tinnitus any worse , 2021,22 wellduring this time got a Shingles Jag about a week or more later 2022 this is when my Tinnitus got worse constant Humming in my ears goes from my left ear then to my right ear had it worse since then could Be the combination of both the Covid Jag of the Shingles jag , i myself believie it was the Shingles Jag as thats when this really got worse and have it ever since even with hearing aids Still get it

I've had mild tinnitus for several years but got used to it and had a relatively normal life. However, my ringing became worse a few weeks ago and accompanied by a sensation of fullness and pressure. Doctor has told me that I may have Deniere disease. I started taking diuretics 20 days ago with no positive results. Do you guys know anybody who had this problem before and got better? This condition is nerve-wracking 😔

I found in my case my the ringing the ears is caused by a toxic HVAC system. When I turn on my A/C I am pulling in the air from the two apartments above me. If, I don't turn on the air, the ringing is 75% less. It is horrible, the previous tenants were heavy smokers, the lady above me uses Fragrance plug-ins. It is extremely loud level of ringing in both ears, these techniques do nothing for me. I am being poisoned, by the running of the HVAC system. I asked the neighbor twice, above me to stop using the fragrance. She has not stopped, I can hardly function because the ringing is so loud.

What is true about tinnitus?
1) Hearing loss due to exposure to noise is a risk factor for tinnitus
2) Tinnitus can be diagnosed with an audiometry test
3) Appears only in young people
4) It can usually be treated with medication

Ive had tinnitus for 5 years in both ears due to ear infection and noise exposure and my advice is don't let it get worse with the biggest offender being ototoxic medication which in my three experiences has made my tinnitus sharper, louder and rawer/ more piercing and, although after 2 - 3 months it subsided to a base/ manageable level, each time it failed to settle back down to what it was before taking the medication.

Second offender is sudden sharp loud noises which I have had quite a few of but never lasting damage/ always settled back down to what it was previously after 2 - 3 weeks, sometimes its only lasted hours then settled back down (I carry foam ear plugs to go out and if I'm going somewhere I suspect could be loud I also take ear defenders).

Second bit of advice is make sure that you don't have wax in your ears or near or on you eardrum as in my experience multiple times after getting wax out my tinnitus has become almost inaudible (wax removed via an ENT using manual extraction as apparently microsuction is too loud near the eardrum which can aggravate tinnitus). As well using distilled water ear drops put in a glass pipette bottle helps to remove ear wax.

I have experienced severe tinnitus in both ears for extended periods but as for my tinnitus now my left ear is pretty inaudible its only when I lay on the pillow is when it becomes louder and bothersome but I can sleep through it, however my right ear is mild/ moderate and when I lay on the pillow it becomes quite severe, although I can still sleep through it depending on how tired I am (I sleep with 9000Hz white noise and a fan).

The best way I can describe the tinnitus in my right ear when not laying down is by using audionotch's tuner on 9550Hz at 1% volume and computer volume at 24 although the tinnitus doesn't sound quite like that and its not as pronounced as the pure tone/ the tinnitus has more of a dispersed effect.

ive had it for 10 years now probably, i only notice it when i deeply focus on it or i am in a very quiet area nowadays.

Guys, I hear this like sound in my right hear it sounds like a motor reving but it doesn’t happen constantly. I noticed this a few days ago but I thought I was it coming from outside. It goes like this “vvvv…vvvv”, and then it goes away. I’m getting scared, anybody what this is?

I get tinnitus in my ear every once in awhile usually my left ear what I do is I just sit still and close my eyes and I just imagine that the sound is coming from a volume knob and I start in my mind slowly turning it down until it's all the way down and I swear to God it's worked for me for at least twenty years. It start slowly getting quieter and then shuts off as I do that.
