what brand a size table saw would you recommend for a 80 year old hobby carpenter
ОтветитьWhat would be the total dollar price in 7 essential tools?
ОтветитьWhat kind of jigsaw would be good to get?
ОтветитьHow important is a planer and jointer.
ОтветитьAwesome videos. So nice to watch something clear and straightforward without loads of noise - straight to the point and easy to follow. Many thanks!
ОтветитьI think I'm gonna have to find some of those hand tool videos, no way do I have the money or space for all of these tools. Pretty much need to factor in the hidden cost of a house with a garage or shed.
Ответитьwish I had seen this video before buying my kit. Have recently taken up woodworking really enjoying it but I have wasted a lot of money already. I bought a mitre saw (December) and it was the sliding type which I don't need. I bought a cheaper one and it is difficult to get square and have had to build a sacrificial fence and still struggle. then I bought a table saw (January) it has the worlds worst ripping fence and the mitre is a joke (its an Einhell 2025/2 or something) the groves for the mitre are not standard so had a nightmare building a cross cut sled trying to get the runners the right size etc. If I had watch your video first I could have saved money and bought the right products first. by the way love all your videos need to spend more time researching before buying and watching before trying LOL
Ответитьi have a drill/ driver/ hammer device combo from milwaukee.
Ответить3yrs later i have all these tools except the table saw. All thanks to this video, I've made numerous pieces of furniture for my wife, kids and relatives
Ответитьmiter saw really? for a hobbyist? not essential unless you do lots of cuts everyday on thick lumber, which make you a professional not hobbyist, jigsaw or even handsaw will do the job very well
ОтветитьWhole heartily agree with your list. You really don't need a bunch of fancy high end tools. On a budget you might throw in a Radial Arm saw you can get those really cheap on Market place. They usually are under a $100 bucks for a good older lightly used one. My Dad built an entire kitchen cabinet set with a Radial Arm saw over 50 years ago. You can even get shaper heads. They seam to have come out of fashion like dado blades. LOL I used one for 40 years before buying a cheap chop saw for easy portability on job site when building my house. Thanks love your vids.
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьI know I'm 3 years late, but I'm so glad I found this. Can't wait to catch up on all your videos.
ОтветитьMiter Saw, Circular Saw, Table Saw, Jigsaw, Impact Drill, Random Orbital Sander...
Counts on fingers.... Looks at Title
Wait, are we missing one?
Hi Steve I’m just getting in too wood working and I wanted to make toys out of wood what would be better and easier jig saw or band saw
Ответитьplease provide the link to the site you mentioned where we can see and use drawings to build from?
ОтветитьMr Ramsey
Would you please recommend a cheap brand of a tablesaw for me I would like to buy one for my retired brother who worked as a carpenter in the air force
I am considering buying a table saw or a miter saw. Currently have a circular and a jigsaw...Can a table saw do everything a miter saw can do?
ОтветитьI bought my first mitre saw from buntings Ozita 99$
I have no idea about it yet
I'm currently building cabinets with only a circular saw and trimmer. Oh man! I'm struggling to keep things straight and square. Not even talking about repetitive cuts. My next buy would definitely be a table saw.
ОтветитьOver 40 years ago I built a set of bookshelves using a circular saw, router, and sander. They are still in use today in my home office.
Today I have a table saw, compound miter saw, small router table with removable router, jig saw, random orbital sander, drill, and impact driver. I'm probably going to get the Kreg pocket hole kit. I also bought an economical band saw, and drill press, which are still in their boxes. :-) They were impulse buys because they were marked way down to crazy low prices, but to be honest, I have never needed them. I use the miter saw, table saw, jig saw, and router for almost everything I build.
You can also drill with your driver! I only use my drill if I don’t have the right bit for my driver!
ОтветитьI would add, don’t cheap out on a jigsaw! I started with the harbor freight drill master jigsaw and it’s worthless!
ОтветитьConsidering this. Thanks for the tool recommendations.
ОтветитьVery good informative video, thanks
ОтветитьNo PPE comments for the power tools? If you don’t have a budget for PPE you don’t have a budget for power tools.
ОтветитьI would not list a miter saw as an essential tool. Between my circular saw (to crosscut long boards to rough length) , table saw and a cross cut sled, I haven't plugged in my miter saw in more than 10 years.
Ответитьthis video rocks, keep it up
ОтветитьI did woodwork for the first 18 months wiht nothing but a saw and a drill and a sander. You can get your lumber merchant to do a lot of the cutting for you.
Ответитьone tool i would add on is a multi tool. can be used for so much with wood working and other projects around the house
ОтветитьHi Steve, yeah I'm just starting out, well a novice. If I buy these 7 tools that's closing on $1000. Got only a Skill an jig. Might try another hobby. Thanks any way.
ОтветитьGreat video. Simple is always good, well done
ОтветитьWhat is the constant music in the bac ground Just for that reason i give this video a big fat F- IT REALLY SUCKS
ОтветитьFucking love this dude, awesome video
ОтветитьAnd if I have any extra or want to make more I will sell them
ОтветитьI’m 11 and I have been wanting to try to woodwork and make awesome decorations for presents and for myself
ОтветитьSteve, what are you thoughts on buying a Flip Over Miter/Table Saw as opposed to buying the two saws separately?
ОтветитьWith a random orbital you'll most likely want to hook up a suction hose to it so might as well have it corded.
ОтветитьWhat voltage drills do you recommend? Would 12V suffice?
ОтветитьOk, so I have everything you listed and a little bit more. I'm ready to start upgrading some of my tools (drill press, router table, etc) and adding some other new options (bandsaw, lathe, planer, etc)
Can you do a video on your recommendations of what to get next please?
I love the way you explain it thank you sir, very helpful. I want to lean more
ОтветитьHey I'm comment 1 thousand
Hello future woodworkers
So. What's the recommendation of a table saw. Small size
ОтветитьI'm late to this video but i'll put my two cents in. You need a drill but you don't NEED an impact driver. Buy a 3/8 impact wrench and buy the adapters they make to drive screws. Take care of two things at once
ОтветитьLove the caffeine lol
ОтветитьLoved the explanations. thank you
ОтветитьHello. Have a question regarding storage of power tools. I’m new to using them and starting to get into woodworking. I live in wisconsin and am making a garage workshop. My garage is not insulated. During winter, is it ok to keep the tools in the garage. Not sure if that can damage them or not. Any advice? Thank You and I enjoy watching and learning from your videos Steve.
ОтветитьI got the Neanderthal package.
A No.4 plane, a few chisels, a mallet, a fine tooth handsaw, a steel ruler, a square and a few clamps. It all cost me about 100$!
I just finished my first piece, a 4 legged stool.
I literally made in my bedroom on the floor because i don't have a workbench yet😂
It was hard and it took me quite a while,
but for a beginner it looks great!
Most of all it was satisfying to know you can still do it all without buying a bunch of machines and supplement them with time and extra elbow grease.
Of course I'm doing this as a hobby so this is very sufficient for me!
