I want to grow some currants, because I would like them for cooking and jams. I love to make jelly during late fall and early winter. I can them for Christmas gifts. I make great apple and grape jelly.

If you dont have acidic soil grow service berries instead. They are delicious and prolific and taste similar to blueberry but with a slight almond flavor

I bought a blueberry bush from Walmart last year. It didn’t grow much. This year I got more foliage but two tiny blueberries. Nothing else is growing. I have it in a wide container. Am I doing something wrong since it’s not producing berries? My blackberry bush is doing good and it’s in a container also. And my loquat tree is two years old now and it’s not getting bigger.

I could not understand why you do not like aronia berries, but the more I think about it, its due to your climate..

The kind of berries you like do not do well in our climate.. So were growing things that work in our area.

Thank you for the good videos.

I’ve got goji berries, they are the worst fruit I have ever eaten, you almost feel like you’re being poisoned when eating them. Bitter tasting, and they are impossible to get rid of. They pop up all over your garden.

I think you totally missed on mulberries - morus alba are almost tastless, very sweet, growing so fast, morus nigra - slowly growing trees, sweet with sour aftertaste with so many fruit nuances and Americans know morus rubra, which are sweet-sour taste. So m. any cultivars, sizes, shapes. You should plant more trees and/or shrubs of mulberries. They are worth it.

Awesome! I have ordered some of each already for next spring! I think we will likely eat most or all of them fresh, so I also chose some currants and gooseberries so I have something to make jam with. 😂

Arsenic, lead, and cadmium were found in baby foods from all of the companies; mercury was found in the food from the only company that tested for it (Nurture).Mar 5, 2021

Heavy metals in baby food?
This is why I am going to start growing more food instead of just tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, and peppers. I am so scared for my granddaughter.
We need to hold our country accountable for what commercial farmers are doing to us.

I don't have much room, only a balcony, strawberries are very compact for the yield, between layered pots and railing planters, I'm in Scotland, not far from the woods, the problem is avoiding all the raspberries and blackberries and, fortunately- as I obviously couldn't find space for a tree- there are 4 large cherry trees in the communal space in front of the building and my balcony is part way in the canopy of 1, so besides the beautiful pink blossoms, cherries are right there, not sure htere are any other compact fruiting plants worth having besides strawberry that aren't easy to forage, besides I have that many containers of strawberries and other plants, I'd struggle to find a spot and still be able to walk.

Have you ever tried marion berries? They are one of my favorites. But then again, I was raised in Oregon, and thats berry country. I grew up surrounded by seas of blackberries. Was a lot of fun that way.😅

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but you cant grow a productive apple tree from seed. Apples, avocados, and mangos have to be started from graft. only about 1 in 80,000 seed plantings will produce a viable tree. you can cut your apple tree and graft on multiple other productive sprigs which will be clones of the trees you take them from.
