Tbh they should’ve had Florence in the episode to sing it. She could’ve been a simple servant serving drinks to the soldiers when one request her to sing a song. I think he look would’ve fit in with the show no problem. Would’ve been incredible. Instead of stupid ass Ed sheratits

Rheagar wrote this song after spending a few nights in the ruins of Summerhall playing his high harp. He would sing this song to the commonfolk with Barristen Selmy. The bards & minstrels picked up the song & it made its way to podrick. Such a sad song

This song brings back all the memories of Game of Thrones. All those stories, all those journeys, all that raw emotion - the joy, the pain, the struggle, the fight, the relentless urge to explode and wish you were in battle against the Night King, the images in your mind of Jon (Aegon) fighting so hard and having to sacrifice everything to fulfil his duty even at the expense of his love (Dany), the images of all our heroes dying, the path which they all took from 10 years ago, from bad to good or worse, it all culminates in this masterful performance of Jenny of Old Stones.

How I wish I was Aegon when I listen to this, how I wish his pain and sacrifices were rewarded. He fought all his life. From being treated terribly as a bastard to finding out he was the one true king of Westeros. He earnt his Kingship on his own merits - thats how great he was. Aegon the Dragonwolf 6th of his name and protector of the realm, Jon Stark the White Wolf and King in the North, The Prince who was Promised, the Song of Ice and Fire, 998th Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, the Undead and reborn, the slayer of the King beyond the wall, the one man who united the kingdoms against their common enemy even at the expense of his own life - Aegon (Jon) Targaryen goes by many names. He is the Last Dragon. The King who killed his Queen, his love, his family....to save the world..once more. How tragic is his life.

This song is even more sad if you know the story behind Jenny and her suffering and pain of lozing a loved one who started a rebellion for being with her. Jesus.

This song has always put me in the mindset of imagining a woman deep in the throes of dementia/Alzheimer's, dancing with "ghosts" of people from her past that only she could see but, couldn't, in some cases, even really remember. I know the history of the song from the books, but it's still haunting to me, just the same.
