Runner Up Winner World of Film by Sony Asia Pacific: Baruna

Baruna, a fisherman's son who has a strong and firm character, tries his luck in the Coast. Education is a dream for him, his family background, who has little understanding about the importance of education, prevents him from reaching his dream. His burning passion for education makes him believe that it is one of the aspects that could change his family’s fate.

Family conditions, the pandemic, and the loss of his father, have become a dilemma for him to reach his dream. Will he make it out?

The purpose of this work, called “Baruna”, is to increase awareness to the people whose life depends on marine ecosystems, and the importance of education as stated in SDGs 4th goal, also that no less important is security and sustainability of marine ecosystem, as the representative from SDGs 14th goal.
