I do astrophotography and want a straightforward website to just display my images -- no sales. I'm not an IT guy, but neither am I a dope. I tried Wix and Zenfolio and have just about given up on both. Neither are at all intuitive to set up a website. Online tutorials haven't been helpful. I'm trying SmugMug and so far so good.

How many galleries should a photographer keep on his portfolio site? 10-15-25 or can it be more?

Great video! What are your thoughts on Shoot Proof? Seems like they offer a lot for the price. And contracts/e-sign integrated seems like a great feature.

Oh my gosh I have been researching hours and it gets confusing. I was ready to go w/SquareSpace but my concern and focus is WHAT PRINTER is being used. Some of these PODs are gimmicky products and my focus is on selling a very good quality print. So, SS uses Printique and I am trying to find reviews - one review stated not so sharp. SS takes 2% I believe of any sales. SmugMug uses WHCC and Bay Photo. I have used WHCC and they are great! But SmugMug takes 15% of any sales. That is a huge jump from SS. What to do? I dont want to start a site and then not feel confident my customers are not getting an excellent print. SS is difficult to reach and SmugMug emailed me 2x in a very fast turnaround. I have been trying to find out if I can use my own POD with SS but to get an answer is close to impossible. It seems that any web building site you have to go with their POD. If I am mistaken let me know. What a headache!

I am a landscape photographer but do it as a hobby. Do I need a website? What advantage will I get from it?
