I'm looking for a Quality Budget but,,, a 'Lighter Weight' Les Paul Style Guitar. Who can recommend a few Guitars that are just Not So Heavy but Great Buys?? Nice Firefly Video, just too heavy for me! Thx,,, G

As a 70 year old I find it amazing how we can buy decent guitars that look good and play well for a small sum. In my day a cheap LP style guitar was much dearer in real terms. The first decent one was an Ibanez Les Paul that cost more that 1000 in today's money and I then put on better tuners and Gibson humbuckers to make it decent.

Not knocking the nice review, however a couple other channels have shown that the neck and body are not mahogany. They were unsure what it was and not sure it really matters but there ya go... For the price, that is for sure a nice guitar.

I wonder if Darrell would answer this for me, but I have a gretsch and I have a LTDESP 256 which both reasonably priced guitars in the $500 range. I love the looks of this cobalt burst Les Paul, and absolutely want to order one… But I really want to know is Daryl really a fan of these or is he just doing it because he’s compensated for the review?

Just had my Cobra Burst delivered today. It’s in near flawless condition only one place on the pickup cover had a small ding. Reviewing all of the items that were looked at on this review they are quality. No sharp edges on frets they are smooth and polished well. This really is an amazing value at this price point.

cheap guitar in a pc studio or expencive amplificator will fix most of it. But Kind of les paul supreme in no brand chinese amplificator, may sound bad o some.

I think the more reviews i watch the more confused i get.
All i want is a guitar that built well and plays well without having to mess with getting it setup. I want it to be able to be played out of the box. If that is $200 or $1000.
Watching these reviews is like pulling teeth. You walk in there is one store that sells RPC than there is a knock off company that sell a peanut butter cup for 5 cents cheaper but tastes the same. Which one do you buy. Go in to another store the is 1500 types of chocolate candy. Nearly impossible to pick one😢

I just received my FFLPS I played a Gibson Les Paul in 78/79 but sadly sold it . I haven't played in roughly 30 years and wanted to pick it back up without spending a lot of money. I started with epiphone then went solo kit then I saw tou review on Firefly I'm impressed so far. Thank you for your reviews. Darryl

Those pickups sound terrible. Replace them with some quality ones would be the first thing I'd change.

If you put some good electronic and nice tuners you will have a great guitar for much less then gibson, fender, prs ec.

@Chris Putt I believe the only copyright infringement that Gibson could action would be the “open-book” headstock design. Do these guitars hurt Gibson? probably not much - they’d only be concerned if people were plunking down close to the original price for a counterfeit.. that good examples of these guitars play well and sound good is a testament to Gibson’s enduring design

Kids today have no idea how lucky they are to live in this era of time.

When we were kids in the 70’s and 80’s into the early 90’s you could find a guitar that would stay in tune under $500

The question is: will those cheap guitars keep the sound quality for years, like traditional brands?

another guy did a review on this guitar he said its not made out of what they say it is. Its solid poplar most likely. and the pickups suck.

these guitars are not easy to find in Australia and if you find a stockist they are out of stock so they obviously are a great deal at $200 to 300 bucks

Love mine, exact same as in the vid. Worth the $ and then some. Check out the Firefly 12.

That' sounds good enough to take on the road and abuse without being afraid to lose a ton of money if anything goes wrong. I'd probably even record with it. If somone where to spend a good 200 on some nice pickups, it would still be an awesome deal.

Im with you. As long as it plays well and it sounds great like this one. For 200 bucks its a real winner.

Probably a nice guitar, but use it for 10 years then compare it to a Gibson. Im sure the Chinese guitar is scrapped. But if you like slavery ? buy Chinese stuff.
