honestly, it's quite useless and misleading. bard is a good class but not a must-have, wizard is pretty weak early game and there's no real aoe until lv5. As a matter of fact, casters ain't really good for doing damage early game except warlock. (Eldritch blast is pretty good and warlock refresh his spell slot after short rest.) But wizard is really good support in early game (or through out the game but I focus on low levels here). Sleep is a good CC, longstride is a nice buff, magic missile always hit, very good to remove low life targets.
Back to the topic,
1) you need a bard or rogue for sleigh of hand, mainly for disarm/picklock, also they normally with high perception.
2) you need a str base character to held loots, probably a melee fight or barb
3) of cos you want heal/support
4) maybe a high cha character so you get a better deal on trade
and those are exactly the game give you Shadowheart, Gale, Astarion, Laezel, Wyll at the start of the game.
i did lae’zel quest is there a way to still get karlach? she wasn’t at that spot
Ответитьlife cleric, lore bard, bear barb and fighter. Plenty of heals, all the AOE you need, and the ability to tank two fronts with plenty of dps
ОтветитьNice, thanks!
Ответитьlore bard can serve as a face, support, & aoe damage dealer at level 6 with magical secrets & stuff like fire ball only losing out on wizards evocation sculpt spells ability, you can also take warlock adept for feat to get eldritch blast which gains more beams on player level not class level & its a charisma spell only losing out on war caster but it’s not really needed when you get more damaging spells. i current run is minthara for frontline and damage/support, karlach for a bit of frontline with single target dps, & laezel as my versatile dps.
ОтветитьPaladin or Bard favorite class.
ОтветитьRogue assassin!
ОтветитьI’m planning on using a “band” (4 charisma basted characters) but they are all multi class (all half warlock), the other half of them is bard, pali, sorc, and fighter.
The band will be called the darkness dancers, everyone has devils’ sight, and all of the characters are dancing in and out of darkness being cast by the back line
Sorcerer, just love it ! I think this would be the class with highest AOE burst potential (2 fireballs opening, 3 if you have potion of speed). Also makes a great party "face".
Ответитьbut we cant create heroes we just take heroes and upgrade them we can create only man . What am i missing
ОтветитьI'm just now trying to figure this out. My main character is a half drow bard and I'm trying to play as good. I'm going to go with Shadowheart, Gale and Karlach I think.
ОтветитьRanger
ОтветитьI like ranger personally, but I'm torn between multiple classes
Ответить"unpredictability of the sorcerer"
Me a draconic bloodline sorc: "what?"
Great content
ОтветитьNice thumbnail! ❤
ОтветитьAfter this I’m definitely leaning more towards the wizard
ОтветитьAwesome video! My favorite class is the Bard🎶
ОтветитьMy favourite class is warlock.
for the face features while still having a lot of story about how he got his power
i like the idea of dragonborn warlock thematically.
Ответитьinteresting choices always love a paladin and a a mage of some type
ОтветитьRangers lead the way
ОтветитьIt's not the greatest party if you have both paladin and bard in it. Both are charisma based. The origin characters do not have bard and paladin so this scenario is not going to happen for the average joe (who doesn't respec every character) anyways.
ОтветитьBard - I played Blade through BG1 and BG2
ОтветитьI ran a Tiefling Bard during early access and I really enjoyed it. Great video btw, thanks for putting in the work to bring solid content.
ОтветитьYooo new sub here. Good video, my favorite class is fighter as of right now but I’m giving paladin a go now and I’m very interested in it so far.
ОтветитьYou recommended both a Paladin and a Bard. I would pick one or the other, but not both in the same party. You might not benefit from having two "faces" (two charisma-based characters). In general, you don't want characters competing for any magical items you find. If you pick a Bard support, then go with a Barbarian, Fighter, or Ranger front line. If you go with Cleric or Druid support and you need someone to be the party face, then pick the Paladin for tanking or the Warlock for spellcasting.
ОтветитьGreat video, love the pov
ОтветитьRanger
Ответить'Best' is kind of subjective. Here are five ways to select a team.
1) The technical choice. Selecting either the strongest or the best balanced party - the choice depends on what your character is. For me, the most effective companions are Astarion, Gale and Lae'zel (don't know enough about Halsin, Minthara, Karlach, Jaheira, Minsc). Others will think differently, and that's fine.
2) The alignment choice. Lae'zel, Shadowheart, Wyll, Astarion, Minthara, for the evil party, Gale, Karlach, Halsin and later Jaheira and Minsc for a more good-aligned party.
3) The romance companion. Chosen not for party fit, but because you want to romance them. Could be more than one companion.
4) The 'going with the gut' party. Probably the most common choice - your party consists of the companions you like the most.
5) The replacement party. These are the companions you intend to replace later but help keep you alive in the now. Lae'zel to Karlach or Minsc or even Minthara, Shadowheart to Halsin or Halsin to Jaheira. Gale and Wyll don't really have a later counterpart.
My favorite is the warlock.
Ответитьgreat advice dude, thanks :)
and gl to all <3
I would probably open a Bard for the charisma option or a Tank ranger -- still debating with myself.
ОтветитьI just really want a wizard but i dont want gale snd i want my main to be a rogue :/ might make a sorcerer
Ответитьperfect team a barbarian and 3 randum others i dont even like barbs but they are the best tanks hands down
ОтветитьI wanted to make a Cleric, but discovered one of my favorite companions is a Cleric. So, I decided I would make a Ranger. But, I have recently started leaning towards a Bard for all the utility and focus on Charisma. Don't know!
ОтветитьBard is my favourite class 🎉
ОтветитьWarlock is def m fav class, basic as it is, being able to go pact of the blade so fun😁
ОтветитьCan’t wait to play a bardlock!
ОтветитьFive second version of this video: You want a Utility, Healer, and two Damage dealers. Hell, you don't technically even need "Utility" if you have a Sorcerer or Bard since they can do dialogue, be your magic damage dealer/control as well as pick locks if you take either of the two backgrounds that give Sleight of Hand.
I really never bought into the idea that Wizards had more utility because they could "prepare for a battle". Unless you're doing some predetermined arena fight or some rematch against a foe you've previously fought, that wider spell selection isn't everything. Without having played the game at least once, you won't know what spells you need for any given fight. This makes them at the very least equal to, if not outright worse than a Sorcerer since the Sorcerer also gets Metamagic and can cast more spells in a round. Plus, a Sorcerer can easily be the party face thanks to being a CHA class.
Also, why is it that lately people just keep focusing on Wild Magic as though that's some innate, standard feature of the Sorcerer? It's not. It's a subclass feature. I can't personally stand it, and never use it. Meanwhile, Draconic Bloodlines and Storm exist as subclasses. Draconic in particular can seriously boost your damage even more for a particular element. Picking any of the Fire based Dragons enhances your Firebolt, Chromatic Orb, Scorching Ray, Fireball etc quite a bit, and later on you can even take Elemental Adept (so can a Wizard though) to get around resistances as well as never critically fail to hit.
Do Wizards have more total spells? Absolutely. Does this allow you to stock up your slots to have just as many as what a Sorcerer has, while also "preparing" (guessing) for your next encounters? Yep. But they still are behind in terms of blasting power and actual combat effectiveness. Even a Warlock, who has the least amount of spell slots of the three is much better at both damage and field manipulation (you can shove enemies with Eldritch Blasts now). At best, you can just keep a few slots in reserve for utility spells that are almost always useful. Wizards "get good" after you already know what's coming up with every encounter, which wouldn't be on your first playthrough without reloading a save every fight.
I think Im going to try the bard first. I think its great to experience this kind of game with a character which can select many traits. Plus the bard is the best face of the party.
ОтветитьMy favorite barbarian goes brrr. Can’t wait to throw some dwarfs into lava :)
ОтветитьIs a front liner really necessary?
ОтветитьI am going to play a scorc/cleric and take Laz, Azer, and the cleric. Good video.
ОтветитьGreat guide ! Thank you, my favorite class is definitively the Paladin.
ОтветитьGreat summary - thank you for making this. I like your concise and well presented info!
ОтветитьMy favorite class is the Warlock.
ОтветитьFav class is Bard BY FAR. But I'm going to play as a half orc paladin for my first playthrough to shake things up a bit :D
I plan to take Wyll, Karlach and Astariom with me.
Bard all the way, best class for me
ОтветитьMy favourite class is the Paladin.
My favourite party composition is flexible.
For the first few of levels, my intent is to run a Paladin main, with fighter, cleric and wizard (the original triumvirate!) to fill out the party. There are multiple reasons for this - two healers, guidance, two melee damage dealers and blockers, an AoE caster and (with the right background), my Paladin will handle locked doors and chests.
Once I hit 5th level, it will change to Paladin, Druid, Rogue and Wizard. Paladin and Druid are frontline and healers, Rogue is ranged sneak attacks for incredible burst damage and sneaky combat setups, Wizard remains AoE, and we still have Guidance - my favourite cantrip of them all!
Of course, this is based on Early Access and I will be as flexible as I need to be!
Good video - thought-provoking.
