Hi doctor. How are you?
Everything is going well?🙃
It's been such a fun journey. It's such good advice that if you want something then go through the grind in your youth because you don't want to start later and later in life when you have more responsibilities. Even if it takes an extra undergrad year it's about the journey and not how fast you get to the finish line sometimes.
ОтветитьI’ll be a doctor when I turn 23. Is that considered young ? Is it better ?
ОтветитьLove watching you grow❤ so inspiring! 🫶
ОтветитьI’m going back to San Diego next year in June
Ответитьif you were sponsored by plaud, could you please disclose any sposorship before or after you talk abt them
Ответитьim happy for you. its not something i would do but my bad childhood really limited my options. i did not begin to heal till 39 but I'm here and happy. just wonder every once in a while how things would of been different had i not been emotionally and physically wounded as kid
ОтветитьAnother great video
ОтветитьSir where do you work as a resident doctor? Please reply. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьIm excited for the rest of your dr journey keep doing amazing ❤
ОтветитьShaun I am thing about going to med school i am of speciating pediatric neurosurgery
ОтветитьThis is Another very best video! how can you find time to study for step 3 while you're in 4 week ICU rotation? can you please share how you're going to do it? Many thanks!
ОтветитьSuch an interesting path! I remember the Covid vlogs and watching you navigate learning medicine through a weird time in the world and look at you now! You inspire us all!
ОтветитьAwesome Shaun. Thanks for sharing your journey into medical school. I would have never thought that you hadn’t decided in highshool or a little later to go into premed. Well, ICU is quite a very intensive rotation. Even though you will be working 12 hour days, you should take it day by day. With studying for your next exam and 6 days a week working, I do understand that your vlogging will be at a bare minimum. Plus the holidays are almost here. But, you can do it👍🏾😀!!
ОтветитьIt’s so sad how advisors and teachers forget the impact they have on the students ! I will never forget how an advisor told me I was not doing well in ethics , because English was not my first language and I could go through life just by acting cute and smiling !! WTH !
Also a teacher made fun of me in front of the whole cohort and stating she knew I was not getting something …
It’s ashame
Well ,I’ve had two careers
I became a Probation Officer , and now I am an LMFT, with Behavioral Health and have my own practice
We need to be careful
How our words impact others
Sir can anesthesiologists earn 1 million dollars a year? Please reply. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьEvery Sunday, I live for the car rants/ talks
ОтветитьI feel like you're a freak on the low?
ОтветитьYou go to Valley Hospital in Vegas?
ОтветитьSir can software engineers earn more than anesthesiologists in usa? Please reply. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьDid you explain why you are not at the hospital you matched at?
ОтветитьThanks for the backstory! I figured out some of it from watching videos but this filled in a lot of gaps.
ОтветитьJust saw this Press Release online from Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR/SEIU):
“Stanford Resident Physicians Reach Historic Tentative Agreement after Thirteen Months of Bargaining”
-
“After thirteen months of contentious negotiations, resident physicians and fellows at Stanford Health Care reached a groundbreaking tentative agreement. This historic deal … includes a 21% increase in compensation, preservation of essential departmental benefits, a $50,000 annual stipend for a resident wellness committee, a $20,000 fertility benefit package, a retirement plan with a 2% contribution and 2% match, retention of essential departmental benefits, a new grievance and arbitration process, and crucially, a new fatigue mitigation policy providing all housestaff access to free rideshare services home after working a long shift. Significantly, under the terms of the new contract, the 2025 cohort of first-year resident physicians at Stanford will become the first interns in the country to earn six-figures.”
Proud of how far you have come!! And best of luck on ICU! Would love to see it and some step 3 studying / uworlding too in vlogs!!😊
ОтветитьThis was a awesome video. You always amaze me. You will probably never know how many u help with these. I'm sure theirs times where u feel you've been a student your whole life. But you push on! I love to hear how your day or week has been. Dang you have already achieved so much!! ICU is exciting and some times scary. Very fulfilling. I just wish your hrs weren't so long. U GOT THIS!
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful journey! Good luck on your next ICU rotation and step 3 exam too. 🍀
ОтветитьThe muuuussssiiiiicccc. 🙂↕️
ОтветитьBeen following you since you started medical school. I wanted to say your vlogs add such a positive perspective to residency. It is a breath of fresh air in this space. You are doing so much for medical students who are worried for this transition including myself. Thank you for not sugar coating things but also not make everything seem so bleak. Your attitude is contagious and it's no shock your channel is reaching new heights! Wish you the best doc 👍
Ответитьthank you for sharing your story. it is very inspiring. I hope one day that I can be in your position and share my story too.
ОтветитьYou got this Shawn! We got you buddy, you will kill this!
ОтветитьFellow exercise science major here and I swear our major prepared us so good for med school versus the typical chem or bio major. My opinion personally of course.
ОтветитьI love your vlogs, been watching for the past 4 years.
I am hoping/working towards becoming a doctor someday. I am currently working full time as a Medical Lab tech, and taking classes part time.
Your videos are like the highlight of my day
ОтветитьThanks for sharing that. I literally don’t know how I got put onto your page. I’m an immigration lawyer with zero knowledge of doctor things lol but now I look forward to these random doctor videos! Good luck on your test!!!!
ОтветитьJust think there is someone out there contemplating their career options right now. This video might help them make their decision. I love how raw, honest and simple you are in sharing your journey. All the best and cannot wait to see your story continue to unfold.
ОтветитьThe word didactics……
ОтветитьI really wanna do family medicine :( but I also really wanna do surgery :((((
ОтветитьWhen i was 20 years old, i was at sams club working as a floor stocker. A person from pharmacy asked if i was interestedmin being pharm tech. I decided why not (never thought of medicine before). I ended up loving it and i remember my General manage at the time telling me i wouldnt make it as a pharm tech, i wasnt smart enough and would be back on the floor. Fastword 16 years, working in a hospital making chemo meds and infusions, plus also in nursing school jsut about to finish my first semester. Dont let ANYONE dictate what you can and cant do. You are the driving force in your life!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your journey. You are an inspiration to ALL , no matter the career path they have chosen. In closing I’d like to say that you are one of the most AUTHENTIC people I’ve come across. Many blessings to you and wishing you a very successful next five weeks ✌️
Ответитьtranscribethis AI fixes this. Becoming a doctor in 20s.
ОтветитьGood luck on everything dr. Hope everything goes well. We will be waiting for the content after you have adapted to the new routine at the ICU!
Ответитьhow old are you now?
ОтветитьAmazing stuff. I am currently starting my pre-med track and I am obsessed with seeing these day in the life type videos. They keep me pushing towards my goal. Super excited seeing you do well man keep it up!
ОтветитьI've binged so many of your residency vlogs and one of the biggest things I can't stop thinking - I cannot believe you have energy and time to record and edit these informative videos weekly in such a consistent and gracious manner. You share and teach so much even after the back end of a 12+ hour brutal shift during a 6 day work week. Just want you to know your vids teach a lot, not just about how to be a better resident, but honestly a better person with a more positive outlook.
ОтветитьIf you don't mind canu you tell me How old are you dr shaun ?😅
ОтветитьHad my shelf exams so I was late to this. Great to hear your story in full!
ОтветитьBecoming a doctor in your 20’s is really tough🎉….I love working in Southern hills hospital as Respiratory❤
ОтветитьThis path has been long but so fulfilling and I’m grateful I get to share it with you all ❤️
