Fun Fact - U2 actually played, whether live or in studio, unlike bands like the Beetles, who had studio musicians play much of their album music. (not just the Beetles either, just using them as an example).
ОтветитьAnd they actually continued play for a minute or so after Bono left the stage which makes the performance even better. I miss that part.
ОтветитьYou interfere and come off obnoxious. Your daughter is a drag because she is so obviously bored.
ОтветитьU2 is incredible by 30 years the best of the world.
ОтветитьI forgot why he picked her,I think she was in trouble, not dealing with the heat very well,or being crushed by the crowd..either way. The band didn't really know what was going on and they were supposed to play another song lol. Definitely a career defining moment for U2 and cementing Bono as a top tier frontman.
ОтветитьTheir set was so long because the producers kept signalling not to stop. U2 had the audience so captivated that one of the producers said they were desperate to keep them on stage for fear the audience would freak out & rush the stage. And you could see in the video that there were some issues already right in front.
U2 was popular, but that performance made them absolutely explode globally. Deservedly so.
Je connais la vidéo depuis un long moment mais c'est toujours bon d'entendre (si j'ai bien compris) que l'émotion que j'ai à écouter cette chanson et particulièrement cette performance est partagé :-) merci-thanks
ОтветитьFirst time viewer: excellent choice.
ОтветитьFinally someone who appreciates music. And mullets. ;)
ОтветитьI am going to Vegas to see U2 in October with my ex we are big U@ fans since about 1983, we are so excited and jazzed up about seeng them for the 1st time.
ОтветитьLove this.. but let the video play and let it happen Dad.
ОтветитьWay to much yacking not enough u2 get on with it
ОтветитьNo offense to Queen, but this wins Live Aid for me.
ОтветитьThe thing with the crowd crush and him "saving" is that he is obviously causing the press forward to be worse by his actions, as the crowd don't know, they just surge forward to also get closer. He was saving her from his own actions ultimately. Crowd control and security were out of their depth.
ОтветитьApparently the rest of the band weren't happy with Bono for jumping into the audience because they had other songs to play but couldn't because he took up too much time as all Live Aid performers were given a certain amount of time on stage. Queen probably stole the show with their set but U2' s Bad for me was the stand out from the Wembley show.
ОтветитьOne of my favorites..
❤❤❤
I wish I could hear it in live..
😭😭😭😭
Gives me chills
Ответить38 years ago yesterday.
ОтветитьWatched this whole show live. Bought The Unforgettable Fire the next week.
Ответитьohhh, my good. i havent seen this for years. born 69. and i remember all my friends got together in my country house in sweden. And this was fantastic..
ОтветитьShow her the U2 at the US festival 1983. And of course the Red Rocks show.
ОтветитьThey and REM were the kings of College Radio up to that point here in the States (This footage is from Wembley, so the UK audience was more aware, although 16 year old me knew them well), but this was the performance that started to catapult them into the stratosphere, which was quickly followed up with the Joshua Tree and the rest is history.
ОтветитьToo "bad" I can no longer afford any of their shows.
ОтветитьFinally someone reacts to the unveiling of U2, granted the Queen live aid performance is epic but this was jaw dropping! At 15 years old, watching on SATELLITE..( WOO..IT WAS THE INTERNET IN 85 ) ..outta nowhere this band had 72,000..on edge of their seats
ОтветитьGreetings from an old dog U2er since 1984 from Athens, early days of this band are the best always
ОтветитьI’m 60 years old and have seen U2 over 30 times, but watching this live was was so awesome. Not just U2, but Queen, The Who and so many others, but U2 stole the show too me! Introduced to them while serving in the Air Force in England 81-83!
ОтветитьWhat does a fourteen year old know about classic rock ?
Ответитьhad the pleasure of being there still have goosebumps
ОтветитьYou don't hear 14-year-olds saying "that changed my whole perception". Most kids that age only know the Kardashians.
ОтветитьQueen were right after U2 . PHIL LYNNOTT is the man . Thin lizzy
ОтветитьQueen overshadows all those acts at Live Aid. Nobody remembers the other performances.
ОтветитьLegendary.
I remember when this came on the tv. Damn.
There was about 80,000 of us in Wembley Stadium that day, it was Epic! U2 we’re still relatively unknown by most people, but they did put on a great set, Queen were the kings of the day, but U2 came a close 2nd for me. It was an unforgettable day, being in that crowd with 4 Friends that love ‘Live’ music was unbelievable. 😎😎😎
ОтветитьYour intro is way too long
ОтветитьAnd the hair is making a guest appearance from 1976
ОтветитьBro, you made the Joshua Tree Tour?! Legend! I saw them at Dodger Stadium in '92(I think) with my now wife. It was right before I went into the USN.
ОтветитьPaddy Power awesome
ОтветитьEternally Genius ! Long live U2 ❤
ОтветитьWhen Bono jumped off the stage, the rest of the band literally had no idea where he was or what he was doing. The story goes that the rest of the band wanted to fire Bono after this. Then the reviews started to come in, and, the rest, as they say, is history.
ОтветитьThis propelled U2 into the stratosphere! if it were not for Queen stealing the show, this would have been U2's show.
ОтветитьIt has got to be a a real hoot to be able to share this love for music with your daughter (or in her case dad)
ОтветитьTotally share your joy for U2 but just to be clear, during many performances of "Bad", Bono "hauled" a woman out of the crowd, such as at Live Aid, with nothing to do with audience members being "crushed" as you mention.
ОтветитьI saw U2 at Wembley not that long before the Live Aid concert. They were awesome!
ОтветитьThis performance from U2 and specially Bono is still the best thing I ever saw in my life, I saw Live Aid on TV, and I never forgot it, it was the World finnest moment
ОтветитьQueen were active in the 80s so that precludes U2 from being the best. Far better singer, guitarist, dummer and bass guitarist and also far better and more imaginative and varied songs. Watch them at Live Aid and also Wembley. U2 never had the impact of Queen.
ОтветитьAmazing take on this live shoelw.. I've never felt more emotional about this performance
ОтветитьThe thing about U2 is that all their 'unpredictability' was staged.
ОтветитьLove
ОтветитьU2 were the best band in the world up to the Joshua Tree. After that, shit
