This truly is a great and underrated Movie, Dinero, Hoffman, Pitt, Patrick, such excellent actors. Even the Child Actors, were outstanding.

Father Bobby swore against god in order to protect is flock. He basically condemned himself to hell, to give these boys a few more years free

What I like about the character is that he is not two-face and or rapist like how other priests are. He know that he's not perfect, always courage the boys to go to church, and willing to risk his belief just to protect them. He is an example of not only a priest but a good person.

i was 9 when this movie came out and i always remembered this scene the most. good film just like much of the mid/late 90s

If it isn’t Hollywood portraying Priests in a bad matter… per usual. Godfather pt 3, Father Stu, and a few others are the only good examples.

Knowing he is lying under oath is just incredibly moving. He used to give them communion and watched them grow up and know he is protecting them the way he feels like they should be protected because of Shakes telling them what happened to them

I wish I had someone like Father Bobby, but I am alone and always will be. This film will accompany me until my death.
