I am grateful to say that I am a born again Christian and have been since I was 19.......i am very blessed to see these beautiful homes and that some of us are very blessed to have these places to live!!!!! but really even if we have just a small home an old home or anywhere at all at least we have a roof over our heads! but the ultimate one who puts the security roof over any of our heads is the savior Jesus Christ himself!!!!!! folks if you don’t know him as your savior then it burdens my soul to think that you are in danger of being forever homeless and are headed for a terrible place called Hell where the Bible says the fire is never quenched and the worm dies not! Folks you are not promised tomorrow! If you want to know how to be saved from this horrible reality then please by all means don’t hesitate to comment right back so I can lead you to the savior! 2 Corinthians 6:2 clearly states “now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation!” And Hebrews 3:15 clearly states, “Today if you hear his voice don’t harden your hearts! It is not me but the Holy Spirit that I pray reveals to you the truth of his precious gospel......John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life! V 17 says then V 18 says whoever believes on the son is not condemned but whoever does not believe on the son is condemned already because he has not believed on the son whom God has sent! Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!

First job: get rid of the TV

I would cry tears of joy if you came to my house and said, "can I do a makeover?"!!! You have an eye for creating lovely, peaceful places! Looking forward to seeing your finished work on the cabin!

The oars would be good curtain rods.

I think an outdoor kitchen and shower down the road will really help. Maybe even consider an outhouse as a second toilet option when you have large group there.

I Love the Videos you make , whatsoever These Sounds ( For me), are so annoying and stressful. Please do some Research, they are very Bad For the brain/ mental health, thats why its everywhere, to harm the people!!!

I know it will be beautiful when you finish. I like the refrigerator where it is and put the microwave over the stove. Open shelves are pretty but upper cabinets would give much more storage

So, what I’m trying to figure out why the content creator/YT channel admin is not responding to any of the comments on this message board.
I’m not a subscriber to this channel, however, I always go to the comment section before watching videos. When I see the comment section with lots of questions and the channel does NOT respond to them, it makes me wonder why they don’t take their time to respond to their viewers, who pay their bills.

I live on 121 acres now and it’s a mountain home and we have a cabin on the property and 5 campsites it is part of the Pacific Crest Trail. Andrea I’m thinking removing the wire shelves and putting floating shelves. If you get an island with draws and cabinets you use it as a pantry because your not living there full time. Also shop your home for left overs that can be used in the cabin, I would keep looking at restore and fb market place. Can’t wait to see how you two do this on a budget :)

Hi Andrea! Well, you two are definitely up for the task as you both are so talented. I think keeping existing cabinets, maybe adding more shelves and additional built ins and painting it all vs. buying new cabinets is probably going to be cheaper in the long run. Having some shelving that can go up the wall may work too with some pretty baskets, etc. to hide items.I think an island would be great and would provide storage underneath. I can see a long table outside for larger family gatherings when you all want to sit and congregate. Poor Mike, he can never catch a break! LOL But he is so good at what he does, and a little bit of him probably loves the challenge! I would keep it as simple and inexpensive as possible. Things can always be added later. Just painting, creating a new layout, and making inexpensive book shelves to replace the ones that are there and surrounding the existing fireplace with them and mounting the tv would make a world of difference. I didn't notice the floors but sometimes just painting them for now and adding an inexpensive area rug may work for the short term.Such a fun project and one that can evolve over time.

I would stain your own cabinets and put in upper cabinets verses shelves. Also and island with comfortable barstools . I like the tan sectional. I would get rid of the striped couch. I know you will do a great job.

Yes It definitely need some updates. After seeing what your husband can do I don’t see any problems and materializing anything you have in your minds. Above cabinet and L-shaped kitchen maybe even a U-shaped kitchen woodwork in there. Personally I’d put the woodstove back in but that freestanding electric thing does not look good the TV mount it would be nice Built in cabinets on both sides of that fireplace would also be a perfect place to store away all those movies games and puzzles. Also what I did before I finalized my plan and building my little cabin was get the dimensions on grid paper. And then there is I’m sure a website where you can print off the different measurements of the countertops cabinets furniture etc. and that way you can move it around on your grid sheet to find out what looks best

Hi Andrea! What a wonderful place to have grown up at and to now share with your family. The idea of investing in it for the long haul is a good idea! I liked all three options but I would really consider at least one if not two more uppers or one long one that gives you a pantry. You do have a large family, that will only grow as they get older and want to bring friends, then wives, etc. Not that you can't refresh it again later. I can't wait to see what you find to furnish it. Wish you lived near me and could come to my garage sale next week, have I got some finds you could use! This is an exciting project to watch unfold. Depending on the size of your windows, old oars make beautiful curtain rods. ❤

Two couches allow chatting face to face. Mount the tv. Keep the wingback and keep everything the same. Spend money on an RV/or caravan. You need an extra ablution block as an add on and more sleeping areas with better ventilation. Could you go up a floor. Cabins do not need to be pretty. Off grid revamps are fine. Think Ron Swanson. Change nothing.

Don’t give up on your dream. So what if it takes time, you’re young and your husband has solid carpentry skills. We have a camp on an island on Lake George and it has been a work in progress for…ever. And l love my hickory kitchen cabinets. 😊

New adventures are fun and sometimes stressful. Moving the stove to the other side might cost more because of the electric lines it would be easier to move the fridge. All the layouts look amazing.

Some people can go spend any amount of money and make a place beautiful, but where is the creativity in that? I can't wait to see what ya'll do with the cabin. Thrifting along the way is fun. I know it will look great. Look what you two have done with your home. I'm excited for you.

If you do go with hickory cabinets, you will want to be careful with flooring. You could have some real clashing going on.

Have you thought on using what you have there and maybe incorporating some reclaimed wood for cabinetry? I think going with more rustic pieces would be better for the cabin and sticking with an old fashioned cabin vibe. bringing the more light colored and modern pieces would lose its authenticity of the cabin. I would love to see deeper rustic wood tones with possibly adding some color that represents nature--greens, blues, tans to complement the cabin.

The fridge (kept where it is) and the trash can are the most accessed things in the kitchen so keeping them close to the entrance of the kitchen might be ideal...keeping the stove on the opposite wall would give the cook the most space while cooking--keeps people out of the cooks way. Also think about if the microwave should be easily accessible for the kids to use (and therefore not put above the stove?) Just my two cents...LOL

Leave the refrigerator where is at because sink and stove doesn't look great together. The hickory cabinet will look awesome with darker flooring.

I have those hickory cabinets. I put marble look laminate on them. I like it. The cabinets were here when we bought it.

I’d try and buy it if you’re doing all of this.

A new project I am not surprised I like cabin lodge decor I live in Colorado People have moved here from Calif and most people do not decorate the way I like to decorate My house is definitely not like everyone else's house
