It's great thatb hey have rebuilt a few of the old germanic architecture buildings. Next they should take down that horrible monster house of Soviets and rebuild the castle. Has there ever been plans for that?

please be more accurate. The Synagogue was deliberately burnt down (torched in US speak) in the November 1938 Crystal Nacht. This was the night the Germans burnt, smashed and looted thousands of German Jewish homes, business , synagogues all over Germany. It was the most savage pogrom imaginable and prelude to the Holocaust.Before the war there was a thriving Jewish community in Konisberg.
Some Jewish families even have the family name of "Kinisberg"

Well, at the beginning it was a settlement of the Baltic tribe Prussians. The Teutonic Knights were not nice to them :-(
Nowadays there are a few families having Baltic Prussian roots, which try to use the reconstructed Prussian language with their children. I'm writting this comment to honor the First Nation at this area!

Kaliningrad/Königsberg should separate from Russia. It is not meant to be mean, but it would be the best for the region and the people. Königsberg was so beautiful and sovereign. Since Russia owns Kaliningrad/Königsberg, the city and region have crashed. Economical and aesthetic. Man should focus completely on Germany again. It's really better for the people because they would have a much better life. I'm honest, the German culture and the German influence is significantly better than the Russian one.

Russian architecture is beautiful too. for example st petersburg. stalinist building is beautiful also. but the Khrushchov's apartment is not that good
