iPhone 13 & 14's: How to Transfer Photos & Videos to Windows Computer / Laptop via Cable (No iTunes)

i am able to copy most of the pic and videos from my iphone 14 pro to my windows 11 (dell) but not able to view some of the videos and pic? can you tell me why ? and how to fix

There is internal storage in the I phone folder but it says the folder is empty

When I'm copying photos (about 500), this error keeps popping up "The request value cannot be determined" and copying stops. This is happening at random places so sometimes like after copying 38 photos and another time after 16 photos. I even tried with another new cable and in another computer, but same error keeps popping up.
Any idea what could be the issue? Thank you

If your iPhone 13 wont Connect to PC by USB-C. Try using regular USB a. To my on USB c wont conect just charge

I have a small doubt, when i opened the file folder on my iphone via the PC, i could see the images(photos that i took) but also a 'AAE' file by the same name. This goes for all photos, what are these and why are the images being saved as 'AAE' files in my phone. TIA

when i do this my windows 11 PC says folder is empty, i got this with my Iphone 7 and my 13 so frustrating

it doesn't play the videos from my iphone to pc.

so my images ALL came up as like small pixilated thumbnails. I had like 20 folders under DCIM. I've been trying for months to get this stuff off my phone without using "the cloud" but there doesn't seem to be an easy way around anymore. I used to be able to do it exactly how you showed but this iCloud keeps coming up and it will not let you drag and drop items from the icloud to your desktop......so frustrating. Good video though I"m thinking now maybe I need to shut off iCloud on my iPhone.....

Thanks for the super instructions on transferring the photos. Do you have to delete them out of the camera afterwards or did the "transfer" delete them?

It used to be so simple; connect the lightning charger cable and see your photos, now some clever digital dumb shit, created some new multiple screen pathway to do this. Your method goes only so far. I can't simply see what my photos look like anymore. Not your fault. Seriously, what happened to just plugging in the cable, allowing access, and downloading what you want. Why have a combination lock, you have to pick, to your bedroom door, instead of a doorknob? Some people think complicating everything, makes them smart, they are F ing idiots. That is the type of problem, here. That you have to make an instructional video to do this, illustrates the problem. Yes this is a rant against clever idiocy.

I have 12,000 pictures on my iPhone 13. I did what you said but it only says 157 folders. Does it only happen in portions? When I right click on DCIM it’s showing 7882 files. What is happening?

If you guys have issues with the iPhone not having anything inside it when you click it in file explorer, use the itunes app to sync your phone first. When you go in the app there will be a button at the top to sync your phone, once you do that, you can open file explorer and things will actually appear inside.

This didn't work for me on my new PC. What app or McAfee nonsense do you think is stopping it? It sees everything, starts to copy over and then chokes. It should work but doesn't. Bummed out. Need help. Thanks

Took a while for my phone to show up in file explorer, but it eventually did.

I’ve saved my photos from my iPhone 13 to my computer but the problem is they save with a file extension the computer can’t open. They don’t save as a .jpg

Um, what about actual files. That you can find in the actual app called files, .zip files, .exe files and everything else.

Not sure for how many this works. Apple disables the drive and will not allow to copy. It says device is in reachable. It’s totally mistake to buy iPhone 14 pro. After taking videos, you just need to dump them and use normal cameras.

This needs to be updated. Don't always work with 14s iphones.
