smart move for the wildlings to attack in a defensive way. essentially charging but not striking. leaving room for the most loyal to ser alliston to charge in on his orders.

essentially they easily picked out those who would actually fight and left the cowards or those with still wavering loyalties alive. idk who made that plan but it worked out perfectly

The books were so much better. The night’s watch understood that it was living Vs dead and supported Jon letting in the wildings. What crossed the line was him involving the watch in taking back Winterfell from the Boltons. That was politics and breached millennia of tradition—and he was actually wrong. So the betrayal made more sense.

Ser Alliser, for all his skill leading the night's watch and guarding the wall, made the fatal mistake of never questioning the purpose of so mighty a wall in the first place. There's a reason the night's watch was much grander than it is now. Too bad he assumed what that reason was.

The contrast of Alliser's man breaking down the door and Wun wun instead breaking down their larger door.

Watching this you realize that the Wildlings had a much better second attempt at Castle Black then their first one 😂
