I'm sorry but insurance is such a freaking racket, and I'm talking insurance of ALL kinds pretty much, but especially auto and health. You pay a stupid amount every month for car insurance that can vary TREMENDOUSLY just based on which company you go to. HOW is that legal or just?? And then if you're anyone other than a lawyer, you can't possibly sort through the pages and pages of legalese written by the country's best and most skilled lawyers and legal experts that is designed to maximize the amount of profit for the company, and keep the amount of money paid out to policy holders as low as legally allowed, thereby keeping the company's bottom line as the priority. And every fkng product or service these days wants you to purchase some sort of insurance or extended coverage, or additional warranty with it, so that when something breaks or happens and you needed they can look for every reason under the sun to deny you. Why does everything in this country have to be about how much money can we squeeze out of people purchasing our products in order to facilitate growth profit growth profit growth?? People are getting sick and tired of it. But that's Capatalism I guess, American Dream my arse.

In Virginia, you can pay $500 for the entire duration of your registration…..1-2 years…….to not have insurance. Good if you don’t have a car loan.

Charging insurance according to credit is as discriminatory as is the credit reporting bureau. It is designed to continue to keep lower income people who are trying to get out of in debt. Why charge someone who earns less money a higher interest rate and higher insurance costs. All of this is a continuation of economic enslavement so that minorities, people of color and those on the lower socioeconomic ladder to incur the costs of the well off. “The American dream” is really a nightmare!

I use Mile Auto, I drive less then 40 miles a day so my full cover is $55 a month for my truck, my Toyota I pay a little more because that car I drive more and its newer. I pay $110 for full cover on both.

Credit is SO important when it comes to insurance. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️I almost died from a heart infection 3 yrs ago that left my heart functioning at 10%...35% function when let out of hospital w a shocker vest. Was out of work 8 MONTHS living off savings. Still paid rent, utilities, car payment, phone ect ect. THEN COVID HIT few months after I came home. Went thru all 25 grand I had in savings. And as a self employed massage therapist I wasn't ALLOWED to work for another YEAR..... Ruined my perfect credit.

MY INSURANCE DOUBLED when I put car back on road after getting better ! Legit went up to $265 a month.....no points...no tickets...no accidents... last claim was 2010 when my car was stolen out of a hotel parking lot.

Even insurance that doesn't check credit will be priced INSANE. It almost isn't FAIR to be honest that even if we have great driving history and no claims they WILL make it damn near impossible. I now pay 430 car payment and 250 for insurance. So 680 month just be able TO drive. It really sucks lol.

I’m a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter and an Accredited Advisor in Insurance. These professional designation required 6 1/2 years of college level study. I have 38 years experience as an insurance agent and agency owner.

This is one of the better videos I’ve seen about insurance. There is no such thing as any company having the lowest cost. As this video points out there are many many factors that determine the cost of car and home insurance. Just because a company does a lot of national advertising doesn’t mean they will have the lowest cost for you as an individual.

I started out as a company agent. I eventually started my own independent agency. Why would I do that….because that allowed me to represent multiple insurance companies. That allowed me to search multiple companies to find my client the best coverage for the lowest cost.

Just noting, when you’re shopping insurance check an independent agent for a quote. Independent agents represent Nationally recognized insurance companies too.

I’m retired now, so I’m not prospecting for new clients. I note in the comments that someone posted that they hate insurance companies and agents. I understand that. Insurance policies are complex legal contracts that are written by lawyers. That’s why I invested 6 1/2 years of studying insurance and risk management learning how to read and interpret insurance policies.

I understand why people hate, or at least distrust insurance agents, because the product is a complex legal document that requires some level of legal contractual training to understand it.

I love used car salesmen, because they are hated, disliked, and not trusted even more than insurance agents. 😊

The place I live and based on my driving experience, I found Progressive to be the cheapest when I go for full coverage. I pay $555 6 month premium for $25,000 car.
It's good to do a quick Google search and u will see insurance companies popping up with good rates.
