Enjoyed your video, some of the valve train work is slow as I have methods & tools to do away with that rt. & left tool to hold those lifters for adjustment! How many hrs . On that! Ha! Boring a 99- a today
, building early ford's since '68. Best to you today. May they roll forever! Ken.
I am not a mechanic but when I was a kid, I my older brothers used to fix old Chevy engines. Fixing this engineers that you guys do, it brings me some of the most memorable moments in my life.
ОтветитьAm I able to send my FH V8 to this shop or is this only for tv
ОтветитьShow demais. Um dia vou conhecer o trabalho de vcs de perto.
Ответитьwell I am 59 at this point but has anyone ever been crazy enough to put a Blower on a Flathead Ford only reason I was asking like I said I was just Curious cause I could think of a couple of Cars that Engine set up would look Awesome in but then again that is just my Opinion & I doubt I will ever be able to do those builds myself due to 2 things 1 I don't know much about doing that kind of thing and 2 could never afford it on my really small income but hey let me know what ya think on that idea
ОтветитьIt's like 8 Briggs and Stratton's sandwiched together.
ОтветитьAre these guys in the Dallas tx area ?
Ответить3 mains really isn’t a weak spot, it’s not like a flathead will make extreme hp.
ОтветитьCan i get you guys to rebuild my 49 flathead?
ОтветитьI hate watching videos like this because…. now I want one…..
ОтветитьBeautiful! Quick build on an old school. V8 I love it! That's what built hot rotting right there 👍💪🇺🇸
ОтветитьGreat video! What’s the name of company that did the cleaning and machine work? Cost of that? Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video and explanation. Would the buildup on the older engines contain lead?
ОтветитьLove this! You need a flat head valve spring compressor.
ОтветитьYou said fire ring with the head gasket there and it reminded me of the old detroit diesel 2 stroke head gaskets. A fire ring around each cylinder, o rings in each coolant port, and a sort of rope seal around the deck for the oil drain back. No single head gasket to be found. Definitely two of my favorite engines, the flathead ford and the 2 cycle detroit.
ОтветитьOh boy. This rebuild together with all the explaining is truly wonderful. Now, I don't own the real deal but I am building my own 3d printed model of this engine, and I am so pleased to atually see how true to the real engine my 3dprinted model is. Its amazing.
I also learned now how to time it correctly (which I did wrong the first time) and just goes to show how you guys helped even a modest model builder like myself.
I am stoked now, only wish my model would sounds as good as your's.
Wonder what dizzy they used its definitely not the load-o-matic
ОтветитьSweet sound engine
ОтветитьArgentina Salta V8 Roadster 32 Yako
ОтветитьCould do without the other guy
ОтветитьI built my first 239 flathead at 12 years old. It was in a 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe It was given to me at 8 years old. My question is about your disassemble of your unit. You never addressed the ridge at the top of the cylinder. Where as if you don’t ream the ridge you will destroy the rod and piston pushing it out. BTW I still have the ford. Great job otherwise Porsche Tech 53 years
ОтветитьEnjoyed this video. Would love to have heard more of the engine running at the end
ОтветитьThat was fantastic, too cool. The narrative really made it.
ОтветитьWhy 94's and not 97's ?
ОтветитьThe content is highly interesting and fun to watch but way too many commercial interruptions. Simply not worth watching.
ОтветитьCan you tell us what the final cost was. I am doing my 48 merc now.
ОтветитьAwesome video..... I like the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Style.
ОтветитьThis is eye candy, just bought a 1940 pickup last weekend with a flathead V8. Currently stripping it down to the frame. I'm on the fence with the trans and rearend, but keep the flathead. Changing the frontend with mustang II type. Need some guidance please
ОтветитьWhat's up with the blurry images?? Otherwise, a nice video, but the blurry images are annoying
ОтветитьSo a couple of questions….What did it cost overall to rebuild? Parts, machine work, etc.? What was the source of the parts, you didn’t mention that? And the name of the machine shop’s name? We have a 51 woodie driver that could definitely use a refresh to become dependable.
ОтветитьNothing like a flat head sound
ОтветитьAs a positive note, your camera man has a better comprehension of motor rebuilding than most shade tree mechanics...... Love the videos.....
ОтветитьWhat does an engine refresh process set you back at a machine shop? Does it vary with the motor or what you get recommended done? I see crank balancing, cam lobe work, deck shaving, cylinder wall boring and honing, new valve seats. just the block cleaning alone looks like it sets the tone for how you want to do your project.
ОтветитьGreat session guys - fantastic way to review the build with the back and forth in front of the big screen. 👍
ОтветитьGreat content!!!💯💯💯 I'm motivated to take apart my 239 not it looks so easy lol,
I'm pretty mechanically inclined not the best but I can learn, would you say it's not as difficult to assemble it once it comes from the machine shop?
Actually …the induction charge requires a 180 degree change of direction …!!!
ОтветитьWill this motor fit in a 55 mercury sedan thank you
ОтветитьReal good guys
ОтветитьI must have missed something l did not see you remove the liffters
ОтветитьLosen all your head bolt start you engine up lt well come off a.lot easy er
ОтветитьThis video is too fst and we cannot hear the second person talking.sorry
ОтветитьYou really got to be pretty ignorant to anything automotive repair to actually find anything that young man is saying useful.
ОтветитьJust discovered this rebuild video on my Hagerty subscription. It was extremely enjoyable. Video quality was excellent - one thing missing from the comment section was the brilliant shot of the engine inside ,showing the cleaning process. It was interesting to note how long Edelbrock has been around.
ОтветитьWhat a sweet sounding rebuilt engine.Good mechanical skills, sirs!
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the car?
Ответить👍🤔
ОтветитьI think the dirty sludginess is due to non-detergent oil which is all we had in the old days.
ОтветитьWish you guys would sort out your uneven audio so can listen better..
