You didn't really cover this, but the action is slightly offset to the right of center. When you first shoulder it, the stock is thick, and it feels a little awkward. You get used to it quickly enough, and mine has been absolutely reliable. One advantage of living in Las Vegas is that you don't have to deal with the cold weather all that much.

Great rifle…we should be greatful that Henry bought it and put their precision touch on it. Butt plate is a pain to pull off. I might coat the butt with flex seal or other
rubber coating. I don’t care about the aesthetics I don’t worry about buggering up the walnut stock🤣😂👍.

Been looking for a smaller rifle and a buddy just mentioned this neat little thing. Seeing Mr Hickok giggle whilst playing with it is a good enough endorsement for me!

I’ve always wanted one of these, kind of a prepper, and it would make a pretty decent survival rifle. Only thing stopping me from picking one up is the chambering.
Seems to me a true survival rifle SHOULD be chambered in 22 magnum.

I bought one in the 80s (I don't recall who was making them at that time), but it was a Hunk of Junk, and a Jam-O-Matic. I could only get it to feed by shoving a chunk of cardboard between the magazine and the receiver. It was inaccurate, and you had to stop and tighten the barrel nut, as it loosened up while firing.
One of the few guns I traded within a few months of purchasing it.

Other than ammo availability, can anyone enlighten me as to why this gun wasn't chambered in .22 magnum? I'm going to buy an ar7 they are so cool

That cheap Tasco $20 scope from Walmart is a great addition to this. Too bad you can't pack it with the sight attached. An incredible rifle.

I shot some old regular Remington rounds and they did fine. Beware of after market 15 round mags. None of the three I got work. One fits but jams and the other two won't even go into the mag well.

Need help ASAP fixing to get one this weekend and I wondering if anyone has used the adapter that goes on the end of the barrel allowing me to use my approved quiet device. Kinda iffy about using set screws to hold on the adapter.
Has anyone else used this particular adapter and do you trust it to hold with 2 set screws.
I will be using the sclincerco sparrow

Am i the only person who doesn't like how its not centered on the stock? Its on the right side when it should be centered perfectly down the middle. I love the gun but that part bothers me

Great little pack guns.

Before mounting the barrel, pull back the bolt and hold. The barrel will be easier to screw on. As demonstrated.

I shot mine for the first time today. It was very accurate! Shot golf balls at 50 yards and hit every time.

I remember an episode of Magnum P.I. where he took one with him camping but then he was being hunted down for some reason so he had to use it against heavily armed men.

It’s funny you made the joke about only getting the stock. I argued with two people at our local Dunhams Sports (one being a manager in the gun area. When I got notification that it had arrived at the store, I called a to verify. The manager said that the only thing they received from Henry was a stock. I told her that “no that my rifle” she disagreed with me and said that she has it right in front of her. I told her to remove the cover at the end of the stock. I could here the “Thoomp” of the cover and then silence for a few seconds. She then said “Sir, when do you want to come pick it up?” Lol

Henry states it can be a daily shooter no problem.

Ive got an original AR-7 and it only has one slot for a magazine, its pretty cool because it says patent pending on it

Armalite also made a .22 pistol version of this design for about a year. Then the danged ol' ATF made them stop because you could use the rifle stock on the the pistol thus making a sbr.
So instead of a redesign they just dropped the pistol.

Excuse me ...I said .32 , but it was .25 auto.

They also made it in .32 auto....James Bond shot down a helicopter with the first semi-auto version.

Too bad can't afford them here in Philippines, geez feels bad I've started prepping already.

inherieted one of these from my father when he died it had 16 rounds of cci mini mags put through it then put away for 20 years i took it apart cleaned it and oiled it its my go to backpacker
