At least, they need to add Valkyrie into Swann's combat unit in Coop. Goliath, Wraith and Science Vessel are in his combat unit already.
Ответитьwtf are u talking?! Wrath dmg vs air is rly rly HIGH!
Ответитьwidow mines are way worse for the game than spider mines. Who had the idea to make spider mines have unlimited ammo, move around on command and allow them to load into dropships... Also, changing units from being "gun guy" or "sword guy" into hard counters to each other made SC2 more sterile than BW... love both but brood war armies have so much more depth of use
Ответитьpersonally i'm pretty sure the Goliath was removed because it was too versatile, Thors are super cumbersome and Vikings suffer fighting on the ground because of how fragile they're
ОтветитьThey should minimize overlap by having each race only field one unit. This unit then has abilities to transform into all possible roles.
Let's call it the
Siege Caster Viking (or SCV)!
а я думаю що за голос знайомий, а це наш старий (не)друг бассет.
ОтветитьI miss vultures.
Let me have my bikey army
I played Terran in SC and BW because the Sci vessel was so damn powerful. I'd still be playing T if SC2 had it.
ОтветитьEssentially he's working this backwards from SC2 to SC1 instead of the other way around.
Firebats did indeed fill the same niche as hellbats, but and THIS IS KEY. They're biological. Meaning you can heal them. So they had to go.
Vultures were removed for the spidermines (they were cheap and came with 3 spidermines) great for economy sap
Wraiths were removed for the same reason. Why WOULD you want a paper thin cloaking air superiority fighter THAT COULD ALSO ATTACK LAND UNITS LIKE DRONES OR SCV? WHY INDEED.
They got rid of valkyries because they were pretty niche-usage wise. Even for stuff like mass muta you really only needed marines. I don't actually remember ever using Valkyries.
Science Vessels got removed because of the EMP. That's it. EMP used to instantly remove all energy and shields. Raven provided more utility and was less... broken. Well until a few patches in where PDD and seeker drones were a thing. I don't know if this is true for current patches, but MULES could also repair, and those were easier to field. It's not like Terrans ever needed help with detection anyway they had the best detector.
the thing I dont like the about the valkries the most is that they literaly dont exists like wraith sure it doesnt exist in multi bu it still exists in coop and campaigns but valkrie straight up doesnt
ОтветитьSorry, but within the first few units I can tell you don't know competitive Brood War at all.
ОтветитьThe reasons you give for medics and firebats being removed are looking into them from the finished game standpoint. The real reason why there aren't more iconic SC1 units in the game is much more simple - blizzard wanted BW and SC2 to be different as possible, so they removed or changed as many original units, as they could. They even wanted to remove carriers during HotS (and briefly did - so there would be more place for the new Tempest - official reason for the removal of course being 'hard to balance' - their typical scapegoat). And Blizzard didn't add lurker for the first few years in SC2 as well - they said that Roach and Baneling were created as replacements for Lurker, and there was no point. But after the failure of HotS and Swarm host (another 'New Lurker'), which hurt the game pretty bad, they needed a nostalgia unit for the zerg so the lurker was added despite underground AoE existing in banelings, and burrowed threat existing in Swarm Host and tunneling roaches.
StarCraft 2 wasn't created with new units from the beginning - blizzard devs have stated this in the past, that they first recreated most of the SC1 units and slapped the new ones on top. Hellion wasn't created before firebat was (they even reused his model for the replacement - marauder); and balancing the cost wasn't the first priority either - if that was what they wanted, removing the gas cost from firebat and not developing hellion in the first place would be easier. The problem with your videos is that you state simple opinions as facts why units weren't added or were removed, despite not citing actual blizzard posts/statements or changes in patches, so these videos are full of simply wrong information.
"Broodwar units didn't make it into SCII WoL because they shared the role with LotV units"
wat.
They could have just buffed/balanced added/removed abilities to the original units and then we could have had the best of both worlds. For example give dragoons blink that would have been way better in my opinion 😢
ОтветитьObjectively, I think Blizzard HEAVILY NERFED TERRAN and gave Zerg numerous advantages.
The Top Pro tournaments speak volumes of this as how more Zerg and Protoss players see success compared to Terran players.
The presence of the Science Vessel and the Vulture with their spider mines might've somewhat even out the playing field.
The new Nydus Cannal in comparison to the brood war version is a low key example of Zerg being favored.
This is so funny. Protoss and zerg units - banned for being kind of good and hard for low-skilled terrans to deal with. Terran units - banned because we gave you a better one
ОтветитьHonestly, with hunter missiles being nerfed so often, they really should've tried to swap Raven for Science Vessel
Ответитьor because blizzard is a cuck these days ... they should have left them ingame ... and with an option like "disable old units" ...
Ответитьtrying to make excuses for starcraft 2 is cringe
ОтветитьBlizzard dont't like to have fun anymore
ОтветитьThe firebat would be way superior to the hellion in PvZ if it had the same stats as the marrauder. It could tank lings and banes and zergs would cry imba.
ОтветитьThis OPs reasoning is bith circular and gas lighting
ОтветитьI just think more units would add variety to a game fielding vultures without spidermines and hellions and then add a few widow mines would be a cool composition. Goliaths and hellbats and hellions with cyclones would be cool
ОтветитьSC1 and SC2 units differ even in campaign. Firebat completely shifted from being a glass cannon snnihilator to a tank that doesn't even have a stimpack. Medic's heal is nowhere near the sc1's level. Goliath's anti-air is nowhere near as strong. The truth is most units just got nerfed to ashes and at that point, they weren't needed(except vulture which would simply be broken).
ОтветитьI would argue medivac was a nerf. Medics can be build via barracks, so you can MM rush people who were not careful.
Medivac needed a starport, thus making the bio rush early less viable.
I hate building the medivacs. Here's why. I'm not a diamond level player first off. They rush into enemy anti air and die. They require a star port vs just the base barracks. They require starport upgrades which you have to do in addition to marine upgrades if you want to keep 'em alive late game. Yes it is harder to focus them down but with a full barracks focus you can pump the medics out in huge numbers. I miss Medics...
ОтветитьBring the Science Vessel back!!!
Ответитьu clearly didnt play sc2 in the beginning
Ответить>Blizzard tried to shift the balance towards ground armies
>Makes skytoss
amazing job
They got rid of so many units smh, instead of building off of what Brood War had to be a grander, more complex and more skilled game, they replaced units with weaker less interesting concepts that became pretty one note in comparison.
The worst being "Let's replace the Arbiter, the most interesting spellcaster in the game, with the lame Mothership you can only build one of! 🤡 "
Hellions are one note vultures, Ravens kept getting revamped unlike Science Vessels, Stalkers and Warpgate enforced "Flimsy Protoss" whereas Dragoons and having Warpgate an end-game tier option would not.
Iconic Wraiths being split between two more bland units that are target focused on doing one thing.
Just a few examples, and don't get me started on all those "chunky tier 1 bland fest" units..
I miss the old sounds of broodwar
ОтветитьBasset так пытается в английский, но акцент. Продолжай, мне нравится!
ОтветитьБассет?
ОтветитьHonestly it really sucks they didn't just use all the units just rebalance them and keep them all, its disapointing not to have the entire Arsenal at your disposal... And some multiplayer things don't exist in the campaign which is also annoying
ОтветитьVulture maneuverability is a big bonus though, many units in the game can't hope to catch up with a micro managed vulture.
ОтветитьThey got rid of the science vessel for nostalgia. In SCI it was an op unit against the Protos. Was part of the reason Terrans won most of the tournaments.
Ответитьthe explanation of medivacs and medics seems kinda dumb. I mean first of all medivacs are much more expensive to build. So you cant build very fast around 8-9 medivacs while you could do that with medics. also, medivacs cant heal your army too fast unless you build an army of them - which could be possible with ordinary medics. So I still dont understand why Blizzard just deleted the medics from sc2
Ответитьthe medivac was the worst idea they ever had. you basically HAVE to tech up to starport super early as terran.
ОтветитьI'd personally say that Vultures didn't make the cut because of the generally increased tempo of the game, where one Vulture with some mines could easily block enemy expansion efforts across half the map.
Ответитьsc1 is a better game than sc2. change my mind
ОтветитьI miss the wraith. What i would like to see is a customizable army units tree, with related upgrades from BW or SC2. No one would have the same combination and even if they do, they would share the ssme weaknesses. That way, i could get rid of reapers and ravens that are completely useless as compared to the science vessel and add wraiths and goliaths to my tech tree.
ОтветитьWidow mines in Wol!? Come on, and hellbats too...
ОтветитьI would like to try a SINS Rebellion split of the factions bringing the Brood Wars units back into the game.
Terran Raiders (BW)
Terran Dominion (S2)
Protos Kahala (BW)
Protos Scion (S2)
Zerg Overmind (BW)
Zerg Queen (S2)
The most useful ability of SV was an ability to strip all casters of their abilities in pretty large area.
ОтветитьI heartily disagree that goliath's wouldn't have a place in mech compositions in SC2 because any amount of dedicated early A2G tends to wreck mech comps. Vikings are clumsy, short ranged, are just as fragile, and require a completely different production structure to make. Meanwhile, Thors take to long to mass up due to both build time and cost. Leaving the even more fragile Cyclone as effectively the only way to deal with the likes of void rays, mutas, and banshees.
Ответитьhellion and medivac are both flawed concepts to begin with. vikings broke the dynamic too. why vulture, medic, goliath, wraith had to be removed if marines and bc's stayed is appalling.
ОтветитьThsi feels like your saddling the horse from the back. The medic and dropship were there first, followong your reasoning, the medivac woukd never have seen the light of day.
The medic change, I believe, was to move a healing unit for terran to the later stages of the game, and make em less spamable, as Starports are usually bot Infrastructure one wants ton off, compared to barracks
Huh just use a pistol, and fire blanks in the air.
Sure you'll get arrested but then you may as well no longer recognize the police department as a legitimate police department.
Your explanations are crappy. It's not "They didn't use this, because this other thing existed", it's "They MADE this new thing as the replacement for that old thing, because it worked better in gameplay."
Come on man.
