If you are struggling, that is normal. If you feel like comparing yourself to other artists who have tons of experience, stop yourself. Remember; everyone is learning. Whether not you and the other person are at a different stage of learning does not define you as an artist. Instead try to learn from other people, find art that you think looks good, and just try to notice what it is that you like about it. Then from there try and apply what you see into what you make. This is not hate on this artist, actually their tutorial is pretty standard and normal. Its just feels a bit off and hard to follow in this format. They show guildlines and such, but they don't "explain" it, which I can understand since this is a what, 15 second short?




A little thing I would like to note. You do not have to follow "rules" or learn everything before doing art. Remember, art is expression, and do you need to learn how to talk to express yourself? No, but it sure does help! You can first try to see what it is you want to do, and if that is learn anatomy go for it. But lord have mercy, do not imply people (from little 10 year olds to complete adults) have to learn the "basics" to enjoy art! It might help in the long run but at the same time can really drain you. So do what you enjoy and stylize what ya want! This is not at all a dis or something to folks who recommend learning anatomy before stylizing, since I infact learned in that fashion. However (big emphasis of however) it scares a ton of new artists off from learning because they are scared of studying anatomy and such. Which is why prefer saying stylization before anatomy! It brings joy to some folk to do anatomy and some not so much LOL (If ya can't guess i'm the latter)
